But they always wanted to live overseas, and just before I was born, my dad came to Sydney to set things up. I don’t know why, but in the end, my mother and I didn’t join him until I was 6.

    KidsRead 點讀筆去年底再度和美國擁有70多年悠久歷史的 Highlights 兒童教育出版社聯名推出了三本新的點讀找找書，分別是Hidden Pictures: ABC Town ， Let’s Count Vehicles，以及Playscenes 2. 三本的畫風不僅可愛富童趣，顏色選配豐富，更藉由好玩的找找遊戲教孩子無痛認識字母、數數，以及生活常用英文單字，是三本饒富趣味的學齡前兒童創意遊戲書！

    這系列的找找點讀書，因為太有趣，使得我們在澳洲家中一直以來的台灣生態圈也因而有了「破口」：以往姊弟能不碰英文就不碰(因為過去五年來我只讓他們讀中文書與觀賞中文影集)，但因為 Highlights Hidden Pictures 太好玩，躲貓貓的方式極符合我家4&5歲姊弟目前的胃口，所以他們居然破天荒地願意平時自己拿來點讀挑戰，進而跟著點讀筆覆誦英文單字或句子，充分體現了在家「英文自學」的能力！

    而我想，這也是 KidsRead 點讀筆的一大優點：賦予孩子們自主權，讓他們決定怎麼閱讀（聽整本故事？跟著唸？只想知道局部內容？或是與內容互動）。

    ✳️ABC Town（適齡:4+)：
    除了畫風吸睛，它採用展開式大跨圖，將26個字母開頭的動物與物品巧妙地安置於日常生活中常見的街景與商店中讓孩子點讀，或是玩躲貓貓。透過聽單字，找小圖，孩子容易不知不覺間跟著覆誦起來。全書特色有：

    ✳️Playscenes2 （適齡：約3-4歲）：
    因為內容比較初階，物品藏匿處比較好被發現，是這三本找找點讀書中小丹玩起來最上手的。整本書包含了11個遊戲場景、超過80個生活常用單字。由於這些單字常在不同的遊戲場景裡重複出現，透過書中圖像與聲音結合，邊聽問句與單字，邊玩找找遊戲，讓遊戲領導學習，從玩樂中無痛累積英文單字。加上書中還有可畫畫的延伸學習活動，如走迷宮、連連看、想像畫，所以Lara上學時，小丹時常一個人拿著點讀筆與隨書贈送的超好畫水洗蠟筆在我旁邊玩樂，時而見他專注找物品，時而聽他邊畫圖邊傻笑。
