Today, I have tasted these two pelaverga together, both of Verduno, north part of Barolo, which is famous for its elegance and special aroma for barolos and of course the native grape called Pelaverga. Pelaverga, here we talk about Pelaverga piccolo, used to blend wit nebbiolo or barbera. Nowadays, it’s quite unique for Verduno area, producers started to make the varietal wine of pelaverga piccolo. -Ascheri: it’s more approachable for people who don’t know much about the variety. This Sunday afternoon I was focusing on preparing for my upcoming class for teaching Wset 2... so I started with Riesling as it’s one of my favourite white wine varietal that is so sexy with so many different wine styles... 這個週日下午我正在備課下個月要教的WSET2課程，我決定從我最愛的白葡萄品種雷思玲開始～因為這個葡萄品種很像性感的小女人，有超多種不同風貌... Long story short, I went to a french wine bar this evening, and asked for a glass of Riesling, and got an answer : “oh, we don’t have Riesling, cuz you know we are a french restaurant, that’s a German thing, not us.” 長話短說，我今晚去一間“法式酒吧”用餐，所以我跟服務生點了一杯雷思玲，”結果他們回答我：喔！因為這裡是法式葡萄酒吧，所以我們不會有那種德國的品種。“ 我連問了兩個人都回答我這樣。 OMG, I am so shocked to get this feedback as this is supposed to be a WINE BAR which sharing a bit of knowledge and creating drinking romance place…I‘m sorry but it’s ok you guys don’t want to put riesling on menu on whatever reason, but FRANCE, they do absolutley divine riesling from ALSACE! OMG 我非常的驚訝，因為既然這裡是葡萄酒吧，就不應該倡導這種錯誤的訊息吧！當然基於各種理由店家可以不放雷思玲在酒單，但是你不可以宣揚錯誤訊息呀～法國在阿爾薩斯有超～～～棒的雷思玲！ And the night didn’t stop from here as I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux which I was pretty sure it’s corked, and got a reply from them that this is the wine style which smell & taste like news paper... 然後更糟的是之後我點了一杯白酒，我覺得酒的味道有我們最常說的TCA污染，就是說會有潮濕紙箱或是報紙的那種味道，經理出來跟我解釋說這個是這款酒的個性，就是這種報紙的味道... To be fair I still had a good night as this is an interesting experience, and I don’t let anyone/ anything get on me if I have decided I want a good night.😆 But I just want to say it out loud that, in Alsace, France there are lots of amazing riesling…🥲 其實我還是有一個很好的夜晚，因為當我決定要有很好的夜晚時，我是不會被任何事影響的，但是，我只希望大家知道....法國的阿爾薩斯有著很棒的白葡萄品種雷思玲....
