God’s Salvation “Yeshuah”

“Yahweh says, “Maintain justice, and do what is right; for my salvation is near, and my righteousness will soon be revealed.” (Isaiah‬ ‭56:1‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When reading the Old Testament, pay attention when God talks about His righteousness, wisdom, and salvation.

Oftentimes, they hint at Jesus.

Now we know when we read the Old Testament in the light of the New Testament.

“Thus saith Hashem, Be shomer over mishpat, and do tzedakah (righteousness); for My Yeshuah (salvation) is near to come, and My tzedakah to be revealed.” (Yeshayah‬ ‭56:1‬ ‭OJB‬‬)

In the Hebrew, you can see that the original word for “salvation” is “Yeshuah” which is Jesus’ name.

God was hinting about Jesus’ coming.

Now that Jesus has already come, we know that God has fulfilled His promises to mankind.

We have a Savior who died as an atoning sacrifice at the cross.

““Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” (John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Believe and confess that Jesus is Lord and you will receive forgiveness of all your sins, and pass from death into eternal life.

“Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:30‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Jesus is God’s wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

This knowledge unlocks the Old Testament for us, to see that Jesus is the one the prophets were writing about.
