🦒 Trekked on foot to get a picture with the giraffe becoz they are my favourite animal. Kudos to my trekker and my guide who took me there with a rifle just in case we encounter a dangerous predator. The wild animals in this protected area are not to be trifled with and they are quite threatened by human presence and therefore we cannot get too close for comfort. They consider humans an apex predator, this is not a zoo whereby they are in captive and well-fed. Here they have to hunt for their food in the wilderness. #theluminousonegoestosouthafrica @ Kruger National Park

My secondborn.

The high-spirited, plucky and fiesty girl who doesn't let anyone or anything put her down. She learnt to be independent since she was a toddler (because Mama didn't have so much one on one time with her), she loves thrill rides and all things exciting (she is so looking forward to taking her first Mummy and Battlestar Galatica rides), she makes the funniest faces and most animated expressions (and then laughs at herself because she thinks it's funny), she is bold and could order her own food and drinks before she turned four, she is the drama queen among us and her mood swings can be extreme, she puts her foot down and lets you know she is not one to be trifled with, she fights back and retaliates if she thinks that the elder one is bullying her, she gives in to the younger one at times yet doesn't let him dominate, she says things that she doesn't mean when she is mad (yup, including that hurtful "I don't like Mama"), she tries so hard to keep up with Jiejie and does her best to look after Didi, and she is the one that makes my heart ache a little more and makes me wanna love her more at times.

Because it's so hard being the middle child and I see it. I love you, my dear Ariel, always and forever! ❤
