    走進店舖，往往如走馬看花，視線輕率滑過四周，步履只作日常所需的短暫停留。但當我認真凝視每個空間角落，便意識到背後歷史的重量。當為土瓜灣的蝦記麵店和永香冰室做資料搜集的時候，我本著好奇心仔細觀察店舖每一細節。一幅畫，一件裝飾品，不只因著美觀原因而懸在牆上，內裡還藏著一個個等待被發掘的故事，它們正是空間裡有形的歷史。

    當記憶隨時間變質，實體空間的經歷便是通往過去的最佳門徑。但唯有藉著現場互動，才能將過去記憶活現眼前，這是對著電腦搜尋網上資料無可比擬的連結。透過這張拼貼，我希望能保存在兩間老店經歷轉眼即逝的瞬間，凝住內裡的故事與記憶，並將之展現人前。但願在傢俬與鋪面招牌磨損裡透現出來的一份人情世故，將來亦繼續有人珍惜、關注。

    *永香冰室於1959年開業，在永耀街一隅見證了土瓜灣半世紀變遷。經典劇集《大時代》及近年得獎電影《踏血尋梅》等影視作品，曾在此取景。

    *蝦記麵廠，另一土瓜灣半百老字號，以新鮮手工製蝦子麵聞名。店舖至今仍保留前鋪後廠的格局。

    We often dismiss or glance over interiors of shops and cafes. They become brisk stops where we do our weekly shop and nothing more, but having to inspect and analyse each facet of a space has led me to realise the depth and historical significance these old stores hold. When doing research for Har Kee Noodle and Wing Heung Cafe, I was encouraged to perceive each and every aspect inquisitively. Each photograph on the wall, each piece of decor perhaps wasn’t only there for mere aesthetic intention. Behind each aspect was a story to tell, one which represents a tangible history of the space. With perishable memories and the temporal notion of emotion, I found that connecting with the physical space was the best way to engage with the past. Researching online was one thing, but having this information set against the backdrop of where it all happened brought these memories to life. And by creating a collage, I wanted to highlight the preservation of a fleeting moment, memory encased and stories retold in these physical spaces. The wear and tear of furniture and iconic shopfront signs held a sense of sentimentality which I hope others will be more wary of in the future.

    【民陣強烈譴責警方腰斬元旦遊行】

    CHRF Condemn HK Police Slashing New Year Rally
    (English version below)

    警方於今日 5 時半，強行終止了民陣的遊行及集會，民陣對此予以強烈譴責！民陣亦嚴正聲明，疏散群眾是按不反對通知書要求迫於無奈的做法，民陣絕對不同意警方腰斬的決定，警方相關言論是充滿謊言、誤導及分化香港人。

    警察於盧押道的拘捕行動引發警民對峙，當時場面漸變溫和，防暴警察及後亦準備撤退，卻隨即向人群投擲催淚彈，激化矛盾。警方亦同時威逼遊行腰斬，更要求民陣 30 分鐘內疏散迫爆港島的數十萬市民，大批防暴警察更在地鐵站及各疏散路線截查、挑釁市民，成圍捕之勢。

    二零二零年一月一日，新一年第一個合法遊行，警方卻藉詞腰斬，充份顯示政府「旨暴製亂」，無意回應市民訴求，更嚴重侵犯市民參與和平集會的權利。

    民陣警告香港政府，尊重浩蕩民意，落實五大訴求，缺一不可，否則香港人絕對不會放棄，社會亦因為警暴不會回復平靜。

    CHRF Condemn HK Police Slashing New Year Rally

    Hong Kong Police ceased CHRF’s New Year Rally and assembly today at 1730 HKT. CHRF condemn such a brutal decision. We reluctantly abided by the terms of “Letter of No Objection” to evacuate the crowd——we have never agreed upon the Police’s decision. The Police’s comment on our alleged “agreement” is falsified and maliciously diverging the public.

    Earlier tension at Luard Road after a Police arrest action was originally easing, and Riot Police were retreating. Unfortunately, Police fired tear gas to the crowd, escalated the scene. Police subsequently called off the rally and demanded CHRF to evacuate all the crowd in Hong Kong Island within 30 minutes. Riot Police at MTR stations and all exit routes kept searching and provoking citizens, threatening mass arrest.

    On the first day of year 2020, the Police dismissed the first licensed assembly of the year with absurd excuse. Hong Kong government have shown its unwillingness to listen to the voices of the mass, infringing the right of assembly of Hong Kong citizens.

    CHRF warn Hong Kong Government to respect and fulfill the Five Demands——Not One Less. Or else, Hong Kong-ers shall not back down, and peace shall not resume with on-going police brutality.
