Why is it so hard to find a picture of just us two Daddy? I love this picture of you and mum taken on your last trip to KL before you left us so suddenly. My father, Mozes Michael Iking was diagnosed with lung cancer Stage 4 on July 29th 2016. Many expressed shock at the suddenness of our father’s passing just 2 months later. Why didn’t we know earlier, you ask? Why did nobody tell us he was so sick? . The truth is, firstly - things happened so fast that we, as a family struggled to understand what was going on and secondly, Dad did not want a large circle to know. The white colour of the lung cancer awareness ribbon represents the characteristic of the disease symptoms which often go unnoticed until it's too late. When people heard of my father’s passing and condolences started pouring in, I kept hearing this phrase, “Your father was a great man”. He had his flaws, but he was the best father and grandfather one could ask for.
