I don’t usually care to post videos of myself training. I can never imagine why anyone would want to watch it 🥱 This is a little different though.

I’m not sat on an ordinary machine.
1) Tom has played with both the resistance and effort cams on this machine to match the profile of the difficulty of the machine to the approximate strength of my movement at the END of a set 😰

2) The straps are custom pieces of equipment from www.contractiontools.com in place to remove my elbow flexors (biceps) and grip from the equation by placing the load on my humerus (upper arm) 💪🏽

3) There’s some pretty high-level cue-ing going on. This is NOT how you would cue someone who has limited experience - those basics and the superficial “why” behind them is taught on RTS1. Tom has intentionally left out dozens of cues that he’d use on someone less rehearsed. “You have to know what you’re looking at, and what you’re looking for.” This is an example of getting the very most out of a rep with someone, who at the same time admittedly had never used this setup before but had a large amount of internal ownership of their body 🙏🏽

Everything needs to be considered in context before even considering regurgitating it in application. It should provide plenty for thought though and a good coaching example to follow... or at least listening to me squeal should provide some amusement 😅

Every time I hear my baby cry or squeal my body responds instantly and my milk supply goes off like a sprinkler! It's crazy and I was not prepared for that but now I know to wear coverage in case of future accidents. The human body does wonders!

A lot of you have been super excited about what I've been making (squeal!!) so here are the promises delivered! It was just the right time anyway, I'm working on my final project and with other papers and tests, I honestly don't even have time to get ready, much less film :-( This is still pretty fun right? This is the first short film I've ever made in my life so please be kind ok this heart isn't made of glass bUT IT MIGHT AS WELL BE

This might just be the cutest thing EVER.


Usually I try to edit Dash's videos into 15 secs clips to upload to instagram (@xiaxue) but I love this whole clip so yay! My first youtube video in a zillion years!

Dash threw his toy on the floor while in his high chair and he knows he is not supposed to do that.

So I told him "Mama angry!" - which got cut away in the front part of the video - and gave him an angry huffy face.

Dash is only 1 year and 4 months old but somehow, he knows that when I give him the angry face he should try to make me smile.

So while I tried my best to not break into laughter, he kept saying "Mama shoo", which is somehow Sorry mispronounced, although usually he can pronounce sorry very well.

And of course the usual puppy eyes, done just right with some averting and slight cheeky smiles.


In the middle of the clip you can see him lifting up his shirt. He knows that if he performs "wash the belly", which is him rubbing his belly with his hands I will always squeal and say "SO CUTE!" and smile.

Ditto for the smacking of the lips because I love it when he does his "mian bao lian" aka "burger face", the biting of the lower lips to puff out the cheeks.

I really don't know how he became such a master manipulator but I lost terribly, smiling at him towards the end. You can see him smirking because he knew he won.

Fine, THROW ALL THE TOYS ON THE FLOOR!!
