［今天，值得好好講一個關於自由的故事］
好的～雖然漢堡還沒講完，但今天真的值得好好講一個有關於自由的故事。
故事要說的，就是這張名為《躍向自由》（Sprung in die Freiheit）的照片。如今這跳躍士兵的形象
已經成為冷戰期間內最著名的精神象徵。它揭示了一件事，那就是 #獨裁政府無法關住渴望自由的心
究竟這裡面發生了什麼事呢？

事情要從1961年8月13日的柏林開始說起
午夜0點1分，三聲尖銳的警報聲劃過東柏林邊防警察營區的夜空。一名東德軍官接到命令，說西德極端派準備進攻東柏林！
「即刻下令.....立即建造一座高牆，保衛東德及東柏林.....」
軍官馬上清醒，下令：「叫醒所有人，全軍戒備！！」
.
一個晚上內，東德便關閉了東西柏林所有的通道，這天也就成為柏林圍牆開始的日子。
無數的東德邊防警察不眠不休，在整個東西柏林交界處架起鐵絲網、疊起磚塊，而其中年僅19歲的邊防警察康拉德・舒曼（Conrad Schuhmann）也是其中一員
.
他很累。自從東西柏林分隔後，他已經不眠不休工作兩天了。
他也很困惑。自從加入邊境警察，他學到自己的任務就是「捍衛德意志民主共和國，並在防暴警察隊伍中為我的榮譽奮鬥！」
但這兩天他所做的，就是不斷武力驅散手無寸鐵的普通老百姓
他記得他看過一個小女孩，兩天前她到東柏林看望自己的奶奶，但半夜邊境被封鎖了
小女孩的父母與小女孩在鐵絲網兩邊不斷地呼喊，但最後，東德警察仍然把小女孩趕回去了東柏林。
他說，那是他下定決心的契機。

在鐵絲網西邊，正聚集了不少記者，來自漢堡的20歲攝影師彼得‧萊賓（Peter Leibing）就是其中之一。
接到柏林封鎖的消息後，他就急急忙忙衝了三百多公里來到柏林。拍下了無數震撼人心的照片：拿著衝鋒槍的士兵、哭泣的婦女、憤怒而憂傷的臉龐.....
而這時他的鏡頭剛好對著那名19歲的東德警察，看著他戴著鋼盔
肩上背著蘇聯製的PPSh-41衝鋒槍，手裡拿著一支香煙。

東德警察把煙扔掉，大聲喝斥一個想接近鐵絲網的西德年輕人，但之後又小小聲地對他說：「我要跳了。」
西德年輕人立馬跑開，沒過多久就把他的意圖傳開
一輛西柏林的警用卡車很快的就開了過來，準備接應
.
攝影師萊賓早就已經把他的200厘米長鏡頭對準了鐵絲網
他的照相機沒有連拍功能，但他在漢堡拍過馬的跳躍，希望這項經驗能夠幫助他。
東德警察點起一根菸，他終於不再害怕了。
.
下午四點鐘，舒曼看到同袍消失在拐角後，立刻扔掉煙頭開始飛跑。
到鐵絲網後他用力一躍！在他跳躍時，他伸開左手保持平衡、右手則扔掉自己的衝鋒槍。
攝影師飛快抓準時機按下快門！他知道自己應該會拍出一張不錯的照片，
但他不知道，自己的作品將會成為冷戰
最著名的影像之一。

照片發表後立刻引起軒然大波。西方世界廣為流傳：
「東德連她的士兵都待不下去！」
直到現在，這座東德警察的雕像仍然豎立在柏林。提醒著人們
即使是在圍牆初起、苦難看似遙遙無期的年代；
即使極權政府可以掌控政治、掌控經濟、掌控一切；
但有件事它們真的無法阻止，
那就是人們渴望自由的心.....
