Spongey and moist cake, smooth silky cream, rich matcha flavour, and the mochi in the middle is chewy and soft. The cake that perfectly mirrors the flavours of an Onde-Onde. For those that don’t know, Onde-Onde is a famous southeast Asian kuih which is similar to a glutinous rice ball dessert. They are usually chewy Pandan flavoured rice balls stuffed with aromatic palm sugar fillings & coated with grated coconut. The cake version of Onde-Onde is easily the best creation ever 😂 - it’s the perfect dessert for both Pandan Cake & Onde-Onde lovers. Pictured above is the delicious Onde-onde cake coated with fresh shredded coconut made by @homekitchen_byng. As seen from this snowy cake, generous amount of shredded coconut was used in this cake & the grated coconut was really fresh and sweet. Overall texture of Pandan cake was soft and spongey, with a well-balanced gula melaka coconut filling sandwiched in between. Not bad!
