A year ago, I was reborn in the “Sister” show... re-introducing everyone to singer-songwriter Cindy Yen. I played and sang my own composition "Love is Black and White". A year later, I stand on this stage and performed my newest single "21 Days" as a DJ to show a different side of my artistry. I wonder what kind of artist I will be like in another year? I only hope that I can continue to do what I love most, and never forget the reason why I do what I do.

【是物味：愈夜愈美麗之味】

文字的味道。青春的味道。
是的，很作狀。聽《愈夜愈美麗》那一年，是大學第二年，正值人生中最作狀之時。
作狀，是一種張揚的行為，是擺到明做俾人睇。一直認為，人生在世，總有至少一段作狀時期。這段時期，可能對你日後人生構成（或多或少的）影響，也可能不留下任何痕跡，不留痕跡到一個地步是：你甚至忘記了自己曾經如此作狀。
我的作狀，會迫我去看一些艱澀的書、文藝的戲，以及聽一些能夠彰顯品味的音樂——肯定不是古典和Jazz，因為舉目所見，我心儀的女同學們都對古典或Jazz不感興趣，她們喜歡的，是英美搖滾，是黃耀明（而不是四大天王，更加肯定不是李克勤）。於是我除了迫自己開始學聽英美搖滾，也去聽黃耀明。
上世紀80年代中打後，香港突然有過一段樂隊（嚴格來說是組合）熱潮，當時我最愛的，是Radias，而不是達明一派，達明的歌太深了，不及Radias的《傾心》，一聽就入腦入心。後來，達明拆夥，黃耀明個人發展，推出了好幾張專輯——但我當時統統冇聽，是直到《春光乍洩》這首歌成為Hit歌（Hit歌定義就是任何場合都有機會聽到，在機舖打機時會聽到，在快餐店食緊沙嗲牛肉麵時也會聽到），加上知道心儀的女同學們都鍾意聽，我就同自己講：我有需要聽黃耀明。於是某個周六我去了荷李活商業中心，在某間CD舖買了收錄《春光乍洩》的《愈夜愈美麗》專輯。
碟買了，其實本來只打算煲熟《春光乍洩》，但為免被女同學突擊問起除了《春光乍洩》還喜歡哪一首歌（我是一個謹慎的人），我迫自己由頭開始聽。我聽見一種從來沒有在廣東專輯中聽到的聲音——我不知道怎樣具體說明，只能說的是：這種聲音，在劉華的碟聽不到，在城城的碟聽不到，甚至在張學友的碟也聽不到（在克勤的碟更加肯定不會聽到）。
大概是，一個歌手的意志。歌手最需要的，自然是用心演繹歌曲，但如果曲不是他作，詞不是他寫，再用心的演繹，都是抽離的，沒有真正進入歌曲裡的——離奇在，黃耀明不是一個Singer-Songwriter，他所唱的歌，卻都傳遞著他的所思所想。
黃耀明的歌，就只能是屬於黃耀明的歌。
《愈夜愈美麗》跟同年代廣東專輯還有一點不同，且讓我用城城《沒有妳的愛》專輯作例子說明：我認，當年超級喜愛《雨中感歎號》這首歌，為了這首歌，便斥巨資買下《沒有妳的愛》專輯，結果，成隻碟，除了《雨中感歎號》和《沒有妳的愛》，其餘八首歌，我只Play了一次，就再沒有Play——大佬實在太難聽了。當年大部分廣東專輯都有一個問題，好聽的歌，就只有Plug的那幾首，以致當年好多精明的消費者都寧願買精選碟，而唱片公司亦相當配合，話咁快，就會為偶像歌手推出那些「新曲+精選」（掠水）。但，《愈夜愈美麗》十首歌都好聽喎。
我一直堅持，聽歌，首要是曲，然後才是詞，一首詞填得再好的悶歌，講到尾，都只是悶歌。或許《愈夜愈美麗》十首歌都太好（其實最後一首《風雨同路》是Cover，但被黃耀明Add了Value，變成一首97前的時代曲），令我好神心地拎起那本Booklet，睇歌詞。這是我人生中首次咁認真去看待歌詞。原來，中文可以咁靚。
對我來說，《愈夜愈美麗》是完美的。完美到，連黃耀明在日後都不能再製作這麼完美的專輯。
因為《愈夜愈美麗》，（追唔到女的）我開始追隨黃耀明，同時也追回之前的《信望愛》、《借借你的愛》，以及達明所有專輯；在以短視見稱的香港樂壇，黃耀明一直都很自覺，流行歌於他，不是虛情假意的商品，也可以是言志的載體。
而後來我們都知道，明哥的言志不只在專輯和舞台，不是表演一部分，也在具體的日常——他是跟其他香港人同呼同吸的人，他是一個真實的人。
他一直青春。他不是那種以校長（這類霸權）自居但又Keep住聲稱自己廿五歲扮後生之流，他青春，是因為他看見每個年頭青春所面對的。
願每天青春直到不能。
