because, since, as, for 的用法區別
(1) because:to give a cause
The zip sticks because it is caught by a thread.
He gets tax relief because he supports his old mother.
Because he broke the rules, he forfeited his winnings.
.
(2) since 與 as:to give a known reason
(cause)。
As he was not at home, I left a message because I wanted to let him know I
visited him.
Since you are wrong, you should apologize.
Since so, I have nothing to say.
(3) for:to give a reason or hypothesis
2.不表示因果(cause – effect)關係,而是對前面主要子句的解釋to give a reason
。
The ground is wet, for (=because解釋) it rained last night.
Be modest in learning, for (=because解釋) complacency is the enemy of study.
(推斷)It must have rained last night, (原因)for the ground is wet this
morning.
(推斷)The story must be true, (原因) for I read it in the newspaper.
