"Intimate Series Take Top Honours at Photo Contest"

Two photographers, Simon Chang and Matej Leskovšek, bagged all the prizes at the Photo of the Year contest organised by the arts magazine Emzin. Their works will be on display at Cankarjev dom from Tuesday evening.

Taiwanese-born Chang, who works at the College of Applied Sciences in Ljubljana, picked up the top prize for "Pieces".

These are snippets of everyday life that the jury described as "standing out for being fresh, subjective, evocative and formally perfected".

He also won the second prize for "Us Two Non-Violently", a series that deals with the first days of parenthood, intertwining images of family with landscapes, city life and animals.

Leskovšek, meanwhile, took the third prize for a series of eight portraits of anonymous middle-aged people that the jury said was "technically convincing".

He also picked up the prize for press photo for a series depicting a hidden bunker built for Yugoslav dictator Josip Broz Tito in central Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Running until 9 March, the exhibition will present the award-winning series as well as a selection of photographs from other entrants.

張雍的攝影作品在斯洛維尼亞「Emzin Photography of the year」傳雙捷訊，以平面攝影系列「PIECES」奪下年度最佳攝影作品首獎 ，「MIDVA／雙數」獲選為年度最佳攝影作品第2名，創下18年來第1次由同一名攝影師囊括3個獎項中的1、2名兩大獎項。

斯洛維尼亞年度攝影獎是由當地藝評、策展人，以及來自法國，捷克等地的國際評審團共同評選。張雍將在14日前往斯洛維尼亞Ljubljana市中心最富盛名的展演場地 Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre 領獎，在那裡也會有為期1個月的得獎作品展出。

去年夏天全家在台灣待了3個月，部份當時在台灣拍攝的作品這次會在斯洛維尼亞展出。張雍說，時間過好快，「MIDVA／雙數」系列從太太安雅懷孕期間開拍，轉眼他們的小寶­­貝松雅已滿9個月，目前還在持續拍攝中。這個小生命，每一天都以不同的面貌向他們展示著生命的驚奇。

張雍2月底會回台一趟，為一個公益慈善計劃拍攝。6月則預計全家返台，出席台南索卡藝術中心舉辦的「雙數／MIDVA」攝影＆錄像個展。
