There's not just one road to the destination, but many roads. You just need to take the little step that’s right in front of you, and then the next one, and a few years down the track, they will seem like massive achievements.

I didn’t meet my father until I was 6 years old. My parents had a comfortable, middle-class life in Shanghai, or as close as you could get under communism. But they always wanted to live overseas, and just before I was born, my dad came to Sydney to set things up. I don’t know why, but in the end, my mother and I didn’t join him until I was 6.

很久沒看到 Jodie Foster了，耶魯大學畢，從初試啼聲 “Taxi Driver” （1976）中與 Robert De Niro 對戲，接著以 ” The Accused“（1989）、”The Silence of the Lambs “(1991) （Anthony Hopkins對手搭檔）黑馬之姿，30歲前不負衆望二度摘下奧斯卡影后，到後來轉型期的 ”Nell”, “Contact”, “Panic Room”, 什麽角色都願意挑戰，特立獨行，自顧自美麗！必需承認，雖然當初是因爲跟古巴關塔那摩的主題相關而選的真人真事回憶錄〈改編自紐約時報暢銷書，Mohamedou Ould Slahi自傳 “我在關塔那摩的日子”〉，但看到 Jodie Foster 及 Benedict Cumberbatch名字時，瞬間挖到寳的喜悅感！故事敘述一位曾經在德國就學工作的北非毛里塔尼亞人Slahi，2001年因為疑似911恐攻的主使者之一，所以輾轉被送往美軍關塔那摩監獄，經過許多不人道的拷問與逼供，而他的人道辯護律師Nancy Hollander與助理Teri Duncan克服萬難，力求正當公正公平的審判過程，決心投入這場原被告懸殊的司法戰役（被告是美國政府、軍方、及彼時美國總統 George Bush），尋求司法正義！三條主線，分別為事件的主角 Mohamedou Ould Slahi，律師Nancy Hollander（Jodie Foster）與助理Teri Duncan，以及提告的軍方Stuart Couch（Benedict Cumberbatch）。Tahar Rahim飾演男主，精湛演技令其順利入圍第78屆金球獎最佳男主角，以意識流方式呈現其審問橋段，呼應前段他與律師接觸初期的極強防衛心與激進情緒言論，而結尾在法庭上的視訊發言，也畫下完美句點！搭配著最近震驚全世界的阿富汗撤軍事件，雖然心知肚明，美國爲了自身利益，在全世界幹了不少見不得光的骯髒事，但細看這起「關塔那摩監獄虐待案件」的真相，只因其某個遠親與賓拉登有牽連，在完全無證據，無罪名，將無辜者囚禁14年？！片中後段的酷刑凌虐與法庭陳述，更是一記記重拳，大大打臉美國向來引以為傲的民主與司法至上的精神！人在恐懼之下，很容易陷入毫無理智的狀態，911恐攻後，美國全國都瞬間激起「寧錯殺，不放過」的心態，亟需找尋報復情緒的出口。政府因此無限上綱情報單位的權力，更把這些見不得人的勾當發配邊疆，既然發生的地點在古巴那頭的關塔那摩灣，被刑求虐待誣賴的人們又來自遠在天邊的國家，難以讓人提起勁關心。其中一幕，在監獄外有個告示牌，警告人們不得傷害鬣蜥，違者罰鍰，諷刺至極。片尾Slahi本人重獲自由之後的幾段影片，在經歷種種不可言喻之傷痛後（他母親見不到他最後一面，在他出來前3年已去世），似乎仍保有幽默風趣的態度，甚至繼續喜歡美國歌手的音樂，看了不禁令人唏噓嘆息! 大同世界，果然是空中樓閣，fairy tale！
Nancy Hollander: Well, when I defended someone charged with rape, nobody called me a rapist. When I defended someone charged with murder, nobody dug around my backyard. But when someone is accused of terrorism, people like you seem to think that that's different. It's not. When I stand by my client and I insist that he get a fair hearing, I'm not just defending him, I'm defending you and me. The constitution doesn't have an asterisk at the end that says : "Terms and conditions apply."

印象中聽起來總是輕盈甜蜜，這次翻唱時才發現它在敘述第三者（亦或被劈腿的第二者）矛盾糾結甚至我解讀為病態的三角戀心境．因此，我試圖詮釋一個略為歇斯底里的版本．有愛有情慾，有痛有怨又帶有憐憫．
