親愛的香港人：
背負著大家的期望，我受命代替劉小麗參加九龍西的補選。這是一場非常艱難的選戰，是希望與喪志的對決。
雨傘運動之後，政府進行政治檢控，年輕人成為政治犯，六名議員的議席被褫奪，香港人言論、表達自由日漸消失，人權、法治進一步受到衝擊，政府管治能力下跌，斷送香港高度自治，威權壓境，很多朋友為此沮喪、變得無力。
關心社會的年輕人被打擊，有人對民主派失望，有人退下火線，甚至連票都不想投。其實我與大家一樣，為香港沉淪而痛心，但懷憂不能喪志，要守護香港，我們就必須重新振作！
我們要爭的何止一個議席，更要爭一口氣！
為了這個目標，在今次選舉中，各黨派與民間團體空前團結，我們走遍九龍西 27 條屋邨，逐家逐戶拜訪；我們在社區毅行，每一步都帶著希望和實踐的精神；我們的義工在區內貼數以萬計的海報，但大家未必見到，因為夜裡就被撕走，大量宣傳橫額也被破壞。不過義工們沒有放棄！希望大家也是。
面對明裡暗裡的攻擊，我必須告訴大家，有輸掉這次選舉的可能。但我懇請大家不要失望、不要氣餒。自從 89 年六四事件後，我在北京被拘禁，親歷民主運動的挫折，到 90 年代爭取全面直選、集體談判權；回歸後，2003 年反對 23 條立法、反高鐵、反國教等抗爭，還有多次工運；我與香港人一起走過高山低谷，同喜同悲，小勝不驕，挫敗也不放棄，只要有我能盡力的地方，我就撐到底！
各位朋友，我們還有很多仗要打，阻擋 23 條立法，阻擋大陸式貪腐侵蝕香港，阻擋向中共進行利益輸送的一萬億「明日大嶼」﹔我們還有很多帳要算︰沙中線工程失誤、標準工時、全民退休保障。我們能在議會多一席，就多一分力量。
我們短期內未必可以改變目前形勢，但最重要有打不死精神，香港這個家是我們的，只要團結，你的一票就能向威權政府還以顏色，為香港重燃希望！
念念不忘，必有迴響。有一口氣，點一盞燈。燈在人在。

Dear Hongkongers,
Carrying the people’s hope, I am entrusted with the mission to run in the Kowloon West by-election on behalf of Lau Siu-lai. This is a very difficult election – a battle between hope and despair.
After the Umbrella Movement, the government started its political persecution: young people became political prisoners, six legislators’ seats were stripped away. Hong Kong people’s freedom of expression is disappearing day by day. Human rights and rule of law are under threat. The government is losing its governance ability and giving away the high level of autonomy we were once promised. The dawn of a draconian government made us feel depressed and powerless.
Seeing the crackdown on the young people who care about society, some feel disappointed with the democrats, some choose to leave the front line, some don’t even want to vote. As much as everyone else, I grieved for Hong Kong’s fall. But we can’t lose our ambition despite the worries. To save Hong Kong, we will have to pull ourselves together!
What we are fighting for is beyond a seat in the LegCo, we are also fighting for our dignity!

NTU COVID-19 Prevention Message—Pandemic Prevention Measures Following Release of Travel History of an Airline Pilot Tested Positive in Australia

全校教職員工生大家好：

因應衛福部公布某航空公司機師於澳洲檢出COVID-19陽性，及其在臺接觸者檢驗確診，中央流行疫情指揮中心公布相關活動史，提醒各位教職員工生須留意是否曾於所公布的時間地點有所活動。
.
若有，應按照衛福部要求進行自主健康管理14日，期間不得到校上班上課。且若於 4/30前 （台北清真寺）或 5/3前（桃園）出現發燒、上呼吸道、腹瀉、嗅味覺異常等症狀，請配戴醫用口罩，儘速至就近社區採檢院所就醫，不得搭乘大眾運輸工具。

此外，如單位內有符合上述情形的教職員工生，也請防疫聯絡人至「臺大校園傳染病管制網」（https://my.ntu.edu.tw/ntuwdc/）的「校園健康管理通報系統」做通報。通報時，「通報管控項目」請選取「航空公司機師感染事件通報」（已預設）。

Dear NTU students and colleagues,

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) has released the travel history of an airline pilot following a report issued by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) that the said pilot had tested positive for COVID-19 in Australia and whose contacts in Taiwan had also tested positive. NTU students and colleagues are advised to check if they have ever engaged in activities at the specified locations and times.

For those who have, please carry out the 14-day self-health management as requested by the MOHW and refrain from entering the university campus to attend or teach classes. If you are suffering from the following symptoms such as fever, respiratory complications, diarrhea, and abnormality of smell and taste before April 30 (Taipei Grand Mosque) or May 3 (Taoyuan), please wear a medical mask at all times, immediately seek medical attention at a nearby hospital for COVID-19 testing, and avoid taking public transportation.

Last but not least, should there be students or colleagues that fit the above description, the pandemic prevention contact person(s) in each academic or administrative office must file a report via the “Campus Health Management Reporting System” at the NTU Website for Disease Control. While filing a report, please scroll down the “Reporting type” and select “Airline pilot infection incident” (selection preset).

因應衛生福利部昨天起擴大回溯部立桃園醫院相關接觸者居家隔離措施，請全校教職員工生注意，如您屬於1月6日至1月19日，部立桃園醫院感染事件相關範圍之
😷出院病患及其同住者。
😷陪病者及其同住者。
😷案889就醫時之相關接觸者。
以上三類教職員工生將全數列入居家隔離至出院後14天，若已完成 14天居家隔離者，將再進行 7天自主健康管理。

此外，自1月 6日起，本校教職員工生如曾至部立桃園醫院的門診或急診就醫，或屬於該院門診或急診之工作人員，請您自最後接觸日起14天進行自主健康管理。

如本校教職員工生有上述接觸部立桃園醫院情形，請您除了配合衛福部要求進行居家隔離或自主健康管理以外，同時請您至「臺大校園傳染病管制網」（https://my.ntu.edu.tw/ntuwdc/）的「居家隔離、居家檢疫、自主健康管理通報系統」做通報。

通報時，「通報型態」請選取「部立桃園醫院感染事件通報」（已預設），出入境資料部分請填寫任意內容即可（如果完全不填寫出入境資料，系統會強制要求填寫）。

Dear NTU students and colleagues,
.
In response to the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s (MOHW) January 24 expansion of home isolation measures tracing back to people in contact with the confirmed cases at the Taoyuan General Hospital (TGH), the University is calling for your attention if you fit the following description in relation to the cluster infection incident that occurred at the TGH between January 6 and 19.
😷Discharged patients and those living with patients;
😷People accompanying patients at the hospital and those living with them; and
😷People in contact with the confirmed case #889 while during the latter’s medical treatment
NTU faculties, staffs and students that fit the above description will be required to undergo home isolation for 14 days following discharge/departure from the TGH. This will be followed by the seven-day self-health management.

In addition, NTU is asking all of its faculties, staffs and students having visited the TGH’s outpatient or emergency department for medical treatment since January 6, or medical staff members of the TGH’s outpatient or emergency department to undergo self-health management for 14 days following the date of last contact at the hospital.
.
NTU faculties, staffs and students having had the abovementioned contact at the TGH should not only abide by the MOHW’s requirement for home isolation and self-health management but also file a report via the "Reporting system for personnel under home isolation, home quarantine, and self-health management" at the NTU Website for Disease Control (https://my.ntu.edu.tw/ntuwdc/).

While filing a report, please scroll down the “Reporting type” and select “Taoyuan General Hospital cluster infection incident” (already preset) and fill out at least some fields of the “Departure” and “Entry” information (the system requires some, if not all, of the blanks filled).

NTU students and colleagues affected by the incident and required to undergo home isolation must not leave their residences or places of isolation within the 14-day period. If affected and required to implement self-health management, please do not go to the University for work or classes during such period. General visitors to NTU having had the abovementioned contact at the TGH must not enter the University campus during home isolation or self-health management.

10月16日，過萬名泰國示威者聚集在曼谷市中心參與尋求政治改革的民主抗爭。泰國警方卻出動水炮車，暴力驅散和平的示威者。我們強烈譴責泰國政府漠視人民訴求，並呼籲有關當局保持克制，以真正的政治改革取代無休止的戒嚴惡法和政治檢控。
由七月開始的學生運動，令全球目光重新留意自1932年起，宗教、國王、政治三位一體的泰國。在面對政權強行地解散「未來前進黨」丶剝奪部分議員當選資格、限制部份民主派人士不能組織政黨，並懷疑涉及流亡異見人士的「被失蹤」事件，我們強調政權有責任保持克制，而我們絕對站在抗爭者的一方，贊成泰國人民的訴求，包括但不限於解散國會丶停止威脅人民丶釋放被拘捕人士和制定新憲法。儘管我們相信任何地方都有行使宗教自由的權利，但政權卻不能以此為理由，試圖推翻啟蒙運動以來所強調的自由和平等思想，重用像中世紀落伍的思維，用不同的教義和皇權為藉口實行暴政統治，藐視人民的自由丶尊嚴和基本公民權利。
自上世紀第三波民主化以來，全球各地仍然充滿着不民主的威權國家。這些國家更有死灰復燃之勢，嚴重侵害我們所相信的民主價值。過去一年，世界各地包括香港丶台灣丶白俄羅斯等熱愛民主自由的人，都見證了一次又一次的人民如何覺醒，並繼續追求全面民主化的改革之路。
我們深信民主改革的浪潮定會戰勝黑暗，也希望各位能夠一起起義對抗暴政，聲援泰國人民，聲援所有自由人。

【Emergency: Global Support for Thai Protests The Thai Monarch must undergo imminent reforms】
On 16th Oct, over ten thousand protestors rallied in the city center of Bangkok under the banner of pro-democratic reforms. The Thai police force responded with water-cannon trucks in a violent crackdown over peaceful protests. We condemn the Thai Government for its contempt and disrespect of the appeal from the Thai people. We call on the Government to exercise self-restraint and to advance substantial political reforms in lieu of relentless political prosecutions under inhumane laws.
Ever since July, the Student Movement had attracted global scrutiny on Thailand. A country who had upheld a trinity of nation, religion and king since 1932. The Future Forward Party was dissolved by force. Legislators had been disqualified and pro-democracy figures had been forbidden to form political parties. The Government is also suspected of puppeteering the disappearance of dissenting figures, whether or not they are in-exile. We believe that the Thai Government ought to exercise self-restraint on these infringement of rights and liberties as well. We stand in solidarity with Thai protestors, in support of their demands including but not limited to the dissolution of the Parliament, to stop ruling with terror, to release all detainees and to lay down a new constitution.
Universal religious freedom does not serve as a basis for the state to undermine and overturn the essential thoughts of peace and freedom, which are endemic to the Enlightenment. The claim by a totalitarian regime based on the divine right to rule can be interpreted as a revival of an obsolete thinking, which should have been left in medieval times. It is no excuse to repress the many freedoms the people are entitled to, as well as their dignity as human beings and the fundamental civil liberties and rights.
A great number of undemocratic authoritarian regimes had survived or sprouted after the third wave of democratization, dating back from the last century. There is indeed a new surge of authoritarian states which devours the values of democracy we hold so dearly. The year of 2019 marks a crusade of peace-loving, democratic protestors risking their all to motivate change, in hope that their homelands will embrace reforms and undergo genuine democratization. The people have spoken, from Hong Kong to Taiwan, to Belarus and many more.
We believe the wind of change is inevitable. Democracy shall prevail over the authoritarian regimes that creep in shadows. We call on every freeman to voice out against tyranny, as of duty and belief.
