    よいしょ！よいしょ！餅つき大会！

    「餅（もち）つき」其實就是搗麻糬啦！

    在日本「餅つき」是正月的傳統行事，而「餅（もち）」也是日本新年必備的食物，譬如：「鏡餅」、「雑煮」等等都會有它的芳蹤唷！

    在日本，「餅つき」最初是一種迎神的儀式。在搗麻糬的同時發出「よいしょ！」的聲音，把要向神明訴說的願望一同搗入！做出能延伸的長長的柔軟濕潤的「餅（もち）」。

    【国際交流イベント】
    2017年1月7日（土）、新年の国際交流イベントとして日本のお正月の伝統行事「餅つき大会」を実施しました。
    餅つきは初体験という留学生がほとんど。国際交流アシスタントから、「日本ではお餅は長く伸びて切れないことから縁起の良い食べ物として親しまれているんですよ。」とお餅の由来を聞くと留学生は興味津々。餅つきのかけ声「よいしょ！」にも神様への願いが込められていると聞くと、一層大きな声で「よいしょ！よいしょ！」と元気よくお餅をつきながら盛り上がりました。
    磯辺巻き・あんこ・きなこと３種類のお餅をみんなで味わいながら国際交流する姿が非常に印象的でした。食後は、お正月遊び体験コーナーで輪投げやけん玉をなど、アシスタントに教えてもらいながら一緒に楽しみました。
    初体験ばかりの日本のお正月伝統文化に触れ、大満足の一日となりました！

    We held “Mochi-Tsuki (mochi pounding) Festival” as a new year’s international event.
    It was first experience for most of international students to pound mochi.
    The students pounded mochi in turns. Everybody surrounded the person who pounds and shouted “YOISHO!” together while pounding. “YOISHO!” is a Japanese word which is usually used when holding a heavy thing or doing hard work but in mochi-tsuki it is also one kind of a pray to gods.
    After that, they enjoyed eating mochi. At the end, they played Quoits, Kendama, and papersumo which are as Japanese traditional New Year’s games. They looked very happy that they could experience Japanese traditional culture!
