【💥4 個簡單公式】如何跟客戶說得「清楚直接又不失禮貌」？

跟上司、重要的客戶用英文進行溝通時，「要怎麼表達得清楚但又不失禮貌」是很多人覺得困難的。畢竟用字、文法用法勤勞一點可能還可以查得到，但是禮貌度、適切性卻不然。

其實英語母語人士在表達一件事情如果需要客氣時，背後的邏輯比我們想像得清楚也更有系統（只是他們自己可能不自知)。

舉例來說，他們習慣採用下面幾種轉換方式：

1️⃣ 必要時隱藏 You
(Before) You promised us to… (After) We were promised to…

2️⃣ 適當時將現在簡單式改成現在進行式
(Before) I hope you can… (After) I’m hoping you can…

3️⃣ 將命令改成問題、請求
(Before) I need to know… (After) Could you tell me…

4️⃣ 加一些副詞 / 形容詞「軟化」口吻
(Before) That’s wrong. (After) That’s not quite correct.

根據語料庫，母語人士其實用了超過 20 種方式，在商業溝通或是日常生活中，讓他們真的能 "communicate well". 學英文，不只學文法、背單字、練習發音，更要學習「語用力」，才能真正有效溝通。

【台積電工程師：Apple 的客戶叫我不要一直說 “Pardon me?”】

在學習英文時，「怎樣的時候，就說什麼就好了」般的「一元思維」，是一定要避免的。因為即便一句話用對的發音、對的文法說了出來，還是有可能因為語境的關係，而顯得不「恰當」。

而「恰當不恰當」這個在商業英文當中應被當作 priority 的面相，
卻在傳統英語教學當中，被當作最後的順位。所以曾經不只一次，
在台積電、聯發科等等大企業工作的學生跟我說，覺得自己用出
“pardon me?” “I beg your pardon?” 時，國外客戶的表情怪怪的。

說真的，用中文時，如果有人一直跟我們說「你可以再說一次嗎」，我們可能也會覺得很煩。

在開英文的會議時，可能會因為對方的語速過快、腔調很重、
或是主題不夠熟悉（甚至單純收訊不好）等等的因素，而造成
聽力理解的困難。這時，其實可以換個說法，試看看：

・Sorry, could you say that again?
・I didn’t quite catch that. Would you mind repeating what you just said?
・Please correct me if I’m wrong. Basically, what you’re saying is that…(嘗試講出自己理解的)…am I right?
・So, if my understanding is correct, you’re saying that…
・In other words, you believe that….(嘗試講出自己理解的)
