STORY TIME - HOW GOOGLE TRANSLATE SAVED ME FROM GOING TO JAIL / EXTORTED / KIDNAPPED? ⚠️💀 (PART 1) Fasten your seat belts for an interesting story. Many of my friends know I’m not into drinking but when an opportunity presents it self while I’m traveling it’s hard to say no. That’s when I found myself in the desolate and hot Oasis of Huacachina at the infamous Wild River Hostel, 10 drinks deep in a never ending series of flip cup. Teetering on the edge of loosing my marbles I decided it was time to call it a night. A few minutes later I found myself gaining a burst of energy which I will correlate to the fact I just puked. I decided with this new found source of energy it would be a great idea climb up the vast sand dunes to watch the stars. A half hour goes by and we hear something in the bushes next to us. Next thing we knew we had an angry “police officer” screaming “prohibir, prohibir, prohibir” which I came to the conclusion we weren’t allowed on the sand dunes at 2:00am. Anxious and fumbling for my phone I opened google translate. I repeated that I did not know Spanish and gave this angry “police officer” my phone to translate what he was saying. He types in “you must accompany me down to the police station” in which I refused as it was 2:00am and I did not know the man and he had no identification.
