I’ve always believed that exposure is key and many other blogs have also talked about it (Refer to the end for suggested accounts). Lately, I’ve shared that we’re giving A Bocconcini. What’s great about it is its baby friendly because of its low sodium level. He’s had it a few times when he was younger (11mth) but somehow I had forgotten about this cheese until my friend mentioned it lately.⠀

I honestly thought A would love it, since he loves cheese, but he didn’t 😅 not sure if its because of the texture or its got almost no salt in there. I wanted to share some of the things I did to expose him. It has worked for some other things previously. Mind you, I was lucky that the 3rd time worked with bocconcini. Raw tomato and a few other things on the other hand we’re still working on, but I do see small progress with those as well.⠀

☆ Serve it on its own⠀
☆ Serve it next to things he likes⠀
☆ Cut it into animal shapes or make it a food art⠀
☆ Remind him what it is (but not asking him to take a bite. I just let him know what is there)⠀
☆ Describe it during meal time: The texture, colour, and taste - to something he is more familiar with⠀
☆ Serve the leftovers again on the same day⠀
☆ Give him a break and serve it again a few days later⠀
☆ Give only familiar foods on his plate with it⠀
☆ Cut it into smaller pieces⠀
☆ While encouraging him to use his cutleries have him fork it up, normally it leads to taking a bite⠀
☆ Cook it a different way⠀

I mixed and matched these here and there not in any particular order. Toddler meal times are seriously very different to when he was a baby where he was much more explorational and wasn’t easily distracted. But we’re here also taking baby steps (literally sometimes) to improve 🥰 I justed wanted you to know that you are not alone on this. A spits things out and gives me the cut eye like I poisoned him all the time 😅⠀
