IGP Alpilles Domaine de TREVALLON 2016​ ​ ​ I finally got chance to taste this mythical wine from Provence.​ ​ Nose is dominate by sour cherry (several review point that the nose is principally “garrigue”, a typical fruit from Provence. I don’t know how does it smell, but for me the wine is very fruity with sour cherry, and a tendency of abricot, slightly “compotée” yet fresh, this smell really gives me mouth watering) hint of leather and truffle. In the mouth we find the same perfume then in nose, with a good length. What is surprising was its really elegant tannins and the body is very balance. Very pleasant drinking experience!​ ​ Why IGP but not AOC? ​ Actually the AOC label is not always better quality then IGP label or VDF label. Wine should follow the production specification to get the label. While in this region, ​ the typical cépage is Grenache, the use of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% de Syrah was not at all usual, and didn’t fit the production specification of AOC label. But the genius wine maker Eloi Dürrbach believes in this combination, and thus make this wine unique and it is now among the most famous wine in the world.​ ​ ​ 終於有機會喝到這瓶久仰大名，來自普羅旺斯的TREVALLON。​ ​ ​ 一聞這支酒就因為他濃郁的香氣而心花怒放，充滿酸櫻桃、草莓的芬芳，還有淡淡的皮革和松露味。這支酒非常平衡，丹寧非常優雅，同行的朋友認爲這隻可以再放久一點，確實我也認為這隻2016年的酒很有陳年潛力，但是現在喝果香奔放濃郁，這種新鮮的感覺我很喜歡，很適合現在熱熱的天氣。​ ​ ​ 為什麼這支酒是IGP（地區餐酒）而不是一般常見的AOC （法定產區酒）?​ ​ ​ 其實並不是AOC的酒就一定比IGP的酒好。要有AOC的標籤是要遵循AOC種種規定，包含產地、葡萄品種、釀造方式等等，都有嚴格的規定，所以有AOC標籤當然說明這支酒有一定的品質保證。但是其實有很多酒莊，釀酒師有自己的想法，在葡萄種植或釀酒過程中與AOC規定的制式辦法有稍微不同，但是在經驗豐富的釀酒師手中，這樣反而成就了與眾不同酒。就像這支TREVALLON，用的是百分之五十的赤霞珠跟百分之五十的席拉，取代了當地的標配品種歌海納，反而創造了一支果香濃郁又輕柔的酒！​ ​ ​ （喜歡藝術的人應該有興趣知道，酒莊主EloiDürrbach的父母都是藝術家，還是畢卡索的好朋友。他們在1955年時把畢卡索有名的那幅Guernica做成織毯，這個毯子的收入就用來買下Domaine Trévallon的地產。之後直到1973年，他們的兒子Eloi Dürrbach在買下了旁邊的葡萄園，Domaine Trévallon就正式開啟啦。）​ ​ ​ ​​ @domainedetrevallon #trevallon #wine #winelover #vino #winetasting #winelovers #winetime #instawine #winestagram #redwine #food #winery #beer #vin #sommelier #wineoclock #vinho #winelife #love #foodporn #whitewine #wein #wineporn #bar #instagood #cocktails #wines #foodie #drinks #bhfyp
