⠀ Do you miss your native food when you are living far away from your motherland? ⠀ ⠀ I really miss sometimes. And it is so good that in Hong Kong there are two restaurants where I can have something yummy that reminds me my home and at the same time makes me feel cozy.😇 ⠀ My today’s lunch was in one of them, called Ivan the Kozak which is located in a very convenient area and good thing that it is close to my work.😀 ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ For lunch I had very traditional Ukrainian food: borsch (Ukrainian vegetable red soup with pork), the soft cheese pirogi, the traditional potato pancakes with sour cream, traditional salad of herring covered with carrot and beetroot. ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ As Ukrainian I want to admit that personally I liked a lot here the soft cheese pirogi, the traditional potato pancakes with sour cream and traditional salad of herring covered with carrot and beetroot. ⠀ ⠀ Between there are two types of soft cheese pirogi – salt and sweet and both I really love. №1 traditional dish in Ukraine is borsch. Definitely you need to try it, to know what it is. ⠀ ⠀ But you won’t find really very and very good one in Hong Kong, personally I haven’t had yet. Otherwise if it will be cooked by me.😜 ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ So if you ask me what I recommend to try in Ivan Kozak I will say try soft cheese pirogi (salt and sweet), the traditional potato pancakes with sour cream and traditional salad of herring covered with carrot and beetroot. ⠀ #expatlife #lifeinhongkong #restaurantinhongkong #hongkong #alinainhongkong
