Pretty random #Throwback to my last major trip to Egypt before the world turned upside down. Keep swiping to see me for scale with the limestone blocks and bonus content of random handsome Egyptian boy that wanted a selfie with me 😅 This lockdown got me going through a wormhole of content and stumbled upon fascinating documentaries about the wonders and mysteries of the great pyramids which spurred me to look back to when I first set my eyes upon the Great Pyramids of Giza. Truly a wonder. We learnt from our habibi Tourguide that Egyptologists believe the ancient Pharaohs in death commanded 100,000 slaves to build pyramids as their eternal resting place (tombs)... which took 20 years and 2million blocks— each pharaoh per pyramid— the bigger they are the more extra the structure gots to be. But the internet (various documentaries by geologists, archaeologists, historians etc) tells us that these ancient pyramid structures that used millions of blocks in varying size and weighed between 1-15tonnes seemed an impossible feat to be built in 20 years— let alone built at all and still stand the test of time (thousands of years)— without some help.... from “something out there”. Whatever the truth may be, just being able to admire these wonders of the world left me a thrill I will never forget. I am beyond grateful I managed to strike this off my bucket list but sadly, the remainder of my list will have to wait for now... or maybe not this lifetime if the world doesn’t heal. But I won’t stop hoping for the best, appreciate my silver linings and keep my chin up as I pivot to fulfill perhaps, a different destiny now. If there’s one thing I’m so glad I did was took a crap ton of pics and photos because these 2 years are giving me a ton of time to look back and just... appreciate all I’ve done up to this point 😌 #doesNATtravelalot #pyramidsofgiza #notsunwaypyramid

And of course a trip to Egypt would not be complete without the visit to the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. Here I walked deep into the various tombs of the Pharaohs. All the tombs had been ransacked over the years but the beautiful hieroglyphs and carvings still remain, such as Ramses II. In Valley of the Queens, were the site for the wives of Pharaohs including the tomb of Nefertari wife of Ramses II, the book that I am currently reading now The Heretic Queen. Her tomb is the most spectacular site today and one of the largest and most beautiful. You probably know of the 20th century discovery of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, whose own story and relatives are very interesting that included Pharoah Akhenatan and Nefertiti.
