【apprehend 逮捕】動詞（正式用語）

The Russian LGBT Network says the pair were apprehended by Russian police at their apartment.
俄羅斯 LGBT 人權團體表示，這對來自車臣的同志伴侶，在自家公寓遭俄羅斯警察逮捕。

最近，俄羅斯跟車臣，對同志來說，非常非常黑暗。

車臣是俄羅斯聯邦內的小國家，現階段來看，車臣完全就是俄羅斯的小嘍嘍，因為車臣的獨裁領袖，非常聽俄羅斯總統普丁的話。

而車臣政府是出了名得打壓婦女、壓迫同志。同志如果公開出櫃，是會被抓、會被虐待處刑的。而最近有一對車臣同志伴侶逃離車臣，跑到俄羅斯生活，結果，俄羅斯警察竟然直接闖進他們的公寓，將這對同志伴侶逮捕起來，送回車臣去，接受酷刑。

在自家公寓，只因為是同志，警察就直接破門而入，逮捕你，這非常可怕，讓人想到經典電影《V 怪客》中，極權政府迫害同志的情節。

警察直接闖入公寓，逮捕同志伴侶，這個逮捕，除了常聽到的 arrest 之外，新聞上也可能出現比較正式的用法 apprehend。

文末にくる「Though」の役割

ネイティブの会話の中で、文章の最後に「though」という単語を付け加えている場合があるのはお気づきでしょうか？気づいてはいるが、どのような意味合いとして使っているのか疑問に思ったことのある方も少なくないのでは？英会話をより自然にする1つのテクニックにもなり、用法も非常に簡単なので是非マスターしておきましょう！
　
　
～既に述べたことに関連した付加情報を付け加える際の「〜だけどね」～
　　
Thoughが文末で使われる場合、前述した内容に関連した別の情報（ちょっとした事実や自分なりの意見など）を補足していることを示しており、howeverと同様「しかしながら」や「けれども」といった意味合いになります。例えば、「今日は天気がいいね。ちょっと肌寒いけど。」と言いたいなら「It's a beautiful day today. It's a little chilly, though.」になります。
　
　
～相手の誘いや依頼を感謝しながら断る際のお決まりフレーズ「Thanks, though」～
　　
また、何かしらの誘いや親切な提案に対し、オフォーをしてくれたことには感謝しながらも断りたい場合は「Thanks, though」という言い方がよく使われます。例えば、友達に「手伝ってあげようか？」と言われた時に「It's OK. Thanks, though.（大丈夫。でもありがとうね）」と遠慮したり、「今夜、一緒に来る？」という誘いに「I'm busy tonight. Thanks, though.（今夜忙しいんだ。でも誘ってくれてありがとう」と断ったりします。

B: It was amazing! It's a vibrant city with so much to do. It was a pretty dirty, though.

（ランニングシューズ忘れちゃった。ランニングシューズ余ってない？）

「聽起來無害的委婉用語『白手套』通常是指中間人或公司，他們在看似合法的地帶清洗髒錢或賄款——髒手則藏於白手套當中。這種由臺灣人首創的表達方式，正在中國迅速傳開，因為猖獗的腐敗現象已於官僚體制的各個層面暴露出來。」

我個人會用「middleman」或「go-between」。

請注意，「middleman」是指批貨後轉售他人者，或協助他人安排商業交易者。該詞本身並不具有任何犯罪或不法行為等負面意涵（negative connotations），亦須有上下文才足以呈現「白手套」的概念。
　
另一方面，「go-between」是在雙方無法見面或不想見面時，將消息從一人（或一個團隊）傳給另一人（或另一個團隊）的人。例如，聯合國代表將充當兩國領導人的中間人（或掮客）——「go-between」，而它的搭配你可以用「act/serve as a go-between」。「go-between」 的一個同義詞是「intermediary」。

❖再次提醒各位，若缺乏前後文，這些用語就不能完全代表「白手套」的涵義。底下我將舉出一些在腐敗情況中所使用的例子。
