This year marks the biggest ever Decanter World Wine Awards(DWWA), which is already the world’s largest and most influential wine competition thanks to a rigorous judging process overseen by international experts.

DWWA 2021 included a first Best in Show medal for a ‘Vin Jaune’ – or ‘yellow wine’ – a speciality of the Jura region of eastern France. The winning wine was Domaine Berthet-Bondet, Château-Chalon 2013, made from 100% Savagnin.

There was also success in Switzerland for the Savagnin grape variety, not to be confused with the similarly named Sauvignon Blanc.

Wine cooperative St. Jodern Kellerei in the Valais region already farms some of Europe’s highest vineyards, and it reached the summit of DWWA in 2021 after its ‘Heida Barrique’ 2019 won a Best in Show medal.

Friuli in north-east Italy made its debut in the DWWA Best in Show winners’ list, thanks to Muzic winery’s Stare Brajde ‘Collio’ 2019 white wine.

Sarah Jane Evans, Co-Chair at DWWA 2021, said of the results, “You know that this is something that's been through a really rigorous judging process. We're not playing at judging here. This is blind tasting.

Andrew Jefford, also a DWWA Co-Chair, said, “DWWA is the world's leading wine competition. We get entries from every corner of the wine world, so it is as it were the closest you can get to a universal benchmark.”

Noteworthy highlights include two Best in Show medals for German Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, showcasing the country’s ability to make top wines with these classic Burgundian grape varieties. A 2011-vintage English sparkling wine also won a Best in Show medal.

本週 4/15-4/20 這五天，正是奧斯卡會員如火如荼投票的日子，得獎名單將於美國時間下週日揭曉。如果你有一張選票的話，你會投給誰？

我必須說，在看完《#父親》（The Father）之後，若純粹以表演水準來衡量的話，我會把最佳男主角投給《父親》的安東尼霍普金斯（Anthony Hopkins）、最佳女配角投給同一部片的奧莉薇亞柯爾曼（Olivia Colman）。另外，我還會將最佳美術設計獎投給這部作品。

以心理學角度來說，近幾年沒有一部談失智症的電影比這部還好。觀眾直接穿上失智老人的鞋子，透過第一人稱視角，將一個失序世界的錯置時空重新建構起來，然後又眼睜睜看著所有你賴以為生的符號與記憶、人際連結、自我身分，一一崩解，而你卻無力回天。

過往我們常常在影視作品當中以病患家屬或第三人稱全知視角來「旁觀」一位失智症患者的心智瓦解，然而這部片卻打破這樣的常規，以第一人稱視角親身經歷那種真假莫辯的困惑。電影並不是直接告訴你角色遇到什麼事情，而是讓你成為角色，被動式地接受一件又一件事件的揭曉。這不僅維持整部片的懸疑張力，也讓角色想要逃離或改變現狀顯得徒勞，更添一種情緒上的無助。

就算整部作品只有少數角色（大概一隻手數得出來，這部分就非常典型的舞台劇），且大多由日常對話構築而成，但一點也不顯得枯燥。而這一切首先要歸功於新導演佛羅里昂澤勒（Florian Zeller）的劇本和調度，真難想像這才是他的第一部電影，簡直是才華洋溢。澤勒是一位年僅41歲的法國劇作家兼小說家，他這次將自己的法文劇場作品改編為英語電影劇本，並首次執起導演筒，卻毫無生澀感，劇本的流暢度與英式優雅也絲毫看不出法劇的原身。

導演下一部電影作品《兒子》同樣改編自自己的劇場作品，已敲定由休傑克曼和蘿拉鄧恩演出，非常令人期待。（導演的家庭三部曲除了《父親》、《兒子》之外，還有一齣《母親》，也許未來也有機會搬上大銀幕。）

而提到《父親》勢必得讚嘆兩位戲精爐火純青的演技。安東尼霍普金斯交出生涯代表作（是的，比《沈默的羔羊》和《教宗的承繼》更好），讓人看見病患除了「受病魔之苦」、「引人乞憐」之外，更加立體作為一位人的性格——包含他喜愛的歌劇音樂，以及心情好的時候還會跳起踢踏舞來的老紳士魅力。

奧莉薇亞科爾曼也是今年入圍奧斯卡女配角當中最強的，若不是前年才以《真寵》爆冷拿下影后，本屆應該輪不到《夢想之地》的尹汝貞。她那眼神一閃不禁潸然淚下，卻試著裝作沒事的哭戲真的是出神入化，從《真寵》的傲慢女王到《倫敦生活》的怪異後母，再到這部裡面心累卻充滿關愛之情的女兒，真的是當代最傑出的表演者之一。

另外也不得不頌揚一下這部的美術設計。整個故事都發生在同一個公寓場景，但每場戲之間，背景都會有一些細微變化。可能是牆上的畫作不同、床上的毯子顏色不同、椅子跟桌子也不知道什麼時候變的，催眠觀眾在一個自以為清醒的狀態下，世界卻已不再相同。當意識到的時候，其實這才驚覺你以為從頭到尾是同一個場域，在故事中卻早已換了三個地方。整部電影彷彿讓觀眾玩每幕之間的「大家來找碴」，道具和家具擺設彷彿成為角色之一，起到關鍵的劇情作用，觀賞上跟《我想結束這一切》有異曲同工之妙。

這部片本週末開始口碑場，下週正式上映（場次資訊請參考 采昌國際多媒體 ），期待大家看完後告訴我你們覺得如何。同檔期的還有一部衝奧片——《夢想之地》（Minari）。但這部我覺得比較像是給美國人窺奇早期亞裔移民生活的溫馨小品家庭詩篇，整體不過不失，但除了整體演員表現在水準之上之外，鏡頭語言和所傳遞的意念並沒有太讓我驚艷之處。

倒是五月初有另外一部入圍奧斯卡的《阿依達的救援行動》（Quo Vadis, Aida，拉丁文原意為「阿依達你要去哪裡？」），講的是一名聯合國翻譯官眼中的波士尼亞大屠殺事件。這部非常震撼人心，拍得非常穩健，也不會過於說教。在私人情感與國族政治之間的平衡掌握得非常精準，也不過度剝削慘絕人寰的煽情畫面，絕對足以和《辛得勒的名單》、《盧安達飯店》、《索爾之子》並列為戰爭屠殺悲劇的必看片單。若有更多奧斯卡會員們有機會看到這部的話，也許它會以黑馬之姿拿下本屆的最佳國際電影也說不定。
