【上世紀的辦案 VR 訓練】⁣ ⁣ 在不少電影、小說中，故事的神探總能單憑案發現場情況、照片、甚至描述就能破案。可是，將時間撥到 100 年前，以案發現場情況分析案情，這種辦案手法其實並非想像中常見，直至 Frances Glessner Lee 的出現，方使現代法醫學得到進一步發展。⁣ ⁣ Lee 是美國首名女警長，好不容易才從男性主導的世界冒出頭來，但其對法醫學最大的貢獻，並非來自真實的罪案現場，而是教育。⁣ ⁣ 二戰前，美國的警員缺乏相關法醫學培訓，經常忽略關鍵證據，甚至不留神地破壞罪案現場，增加搜證難度。同時，只有少數曾受過醫學訓練，能按此準確判斷死因、死亡時間等。其時，現代法醫學尚處於起步階段，Lee 便協助哈佛大學創立新的法醫學系，推動以科學調查案件。⁣ ⁣ 使其留名青史的，是一系列的立體手工微縮模型。自 1940 年代開始，Lee 以精湛的手工製作了 19 座立體模型，將其命名為「不明死因的微型研究」（Nutshell Studies Of Unexplained Death）。⁣ ⁣ 模型以 1:12 的比例製作，每個成本約 3,000 美元至 4,500 美元，造工精巧。最重要的是，模型以真實案件為依歸，組件上微細彈孔的角度、血濺的圖案，以至每具屍體上的顏色，都製作得一絲不苟，精確、精準地呈現犯罪現場的細節，堪稱神還原。⁣ ⁣ 這些逼真細緻的模型，會於課堂及研討會上展示，訓練調查員、學生觀察、理解、發現遺留在犯罪現場的證據，提高其對細節的敏感度，協助尋找真相。模型現時仍會用於教學之上。看到這些模型，你又能否找出塵封多年的真相呢？⁣ ⁣ #茶杯你不知道的古事
