Yesterday, my name was the first to be called out in order to receive my Vice Chancellor’s Award medal. After taking my videos/pictures, the couple sitting next to my parents shook my dad’s hand (mum was too busy crying) and told them, “You must be proud. Congratulations”. It was at that moment I knew the past 4 damn years was worth it. Yesterday was one of my happiest days — to hear dad talking about his graduation days candidly, to see mum look at her phone gleefully when it lit up with congratulatory messages, to feel like I have repaid my parents’ love and dedication, even if it was 10% from what they’ve given me. Amira Sasha (yes I’m a fraud, it’s not Sasha Amira) is now a proud graduate of @uonmalaysia and she’s EMPLOYED!
