瑪麗亞．斯克沃多夫斯卡－居禮（Marie Skłodowska-Curie）的翻譯，先前引起很多的討論，可是關注這件事的不只是台灣。
由於先前曾到波蘭進行國會外交，因此我有收到來自波蘭朋友的訊息，希望我能在台灣幫忙關切，跟母國一樣以全名稱呼這位女科學家，我認為這訴求很合理也符合「國家教育研究院外國學者人名譯名審譯會總凡例」中，以標準發音為準的原則。雖然早期有一些約定俗成的譯法約束了名稱的使用，但基於對歷史名人的敬意，我認為早期翻譯是可以修正的。
另外在國教院的譯名資料庫中，確實存有一些特別的翻法，例如歌劇演唱家Nevada Mignon，中文把Mignon翻譯成「迷孃」。這很顯然是依據性別特意挑選了用字，跟讀音好像也不是那麼的符合。我在質詢中就提出，這類詞彙應該要全面加以檢視，不能只挑有「夫人」兩個字的出來看，才是符合時代的做法。
