(Swipe for more pics) This is the chef of Oste Scuro, very kind and talked to us after the meal. He is very friendly and proud of the ingredients he used. I think Oste Scuro and Marisole are clear examples why it is so great to eat in Italy. They use high quality ingredients and produce and prepare them with care without any fuss. Food was simply so delicious, comforting, the real taste. And yes, pasta always taste so good!

There is no unnecessary storyline and narrative. The food says everything. Not to mention, sooooo reasonably priced compared to say France or Nordic countries.

In Italy I think these kinds of restaurants perform much better than fine dining, although there are always some exceptions. In Verona, there was an exception. Following this post. (The rest of the desserts were also posted here, which included Sicilian almond sfogliatine with cème fraiche plums, Pistacio Semifreddo with blackberry coulis, strawberries and blueberry, excellent pinenut ice cream and yummy cookies for takehome (nice folding of the foil wrap, like a handbag))
