Smell is the most evocative among the senses, and yet I have no idea about the biological science side even in my native tongue... We tried cups of “water “ without label, which is actually with different amounts of sugar, fructose, tartaric acid, malic acid, latic acid and MSG. Learned about how umami show it’s charms with food and some other science fact.
The most interesting part is from smelling game. Based on different cultural background you will smell different thing or can’t find the clue with your memory. Such as turnip and Bergamottos for me.

有趣的是教授讓我們練習聞20種不同味道 來自不同文化背景的人往往對不同物體會有很有趣的結果 像是我把蕪菁當成花椰菜(蕪菁和大頭菜是不一樣的東西喔)把乾的牛肝菌當成小魚乾
還有義大利有太多種無法辨認的柑橘類(像是#bergamotto )
-很驚訝的是花椒竟然一點辛辣味都沒有 反而是木質調的溫和感 全班只有一個人聞出來。
-對了我是全班第一個聞出百香果然後大叫的人 國小的時候菜園籬笆結的滿滿的,她的花瓣是外白內紫,一根根細細的。
