If you are a #champagnelover and a fan of #blancdeblancs, the you don’t want to miss Champagne Delamotte.​ ​ Found by François Delamotte in 1760, the house of Delamotte is the fifth-oldest Champagne house in France. It was sold to the Lanson family in the 1830s then became part of Bernard Hinaul’s Laurent-Perrier group in 1986. Delamotte now, along with its sister winery, Champagne Salon, is run by Didier Depond. ​ ​ ​ What I have in my glass is Champagne Delamotte Blanc de Blancs Brut, made with 100% Chardonnay exclusive from Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs and went through 4-5 years lees aging before releasing to the market. This Champagne displays delicate yellow blossom, Meyer lemon, tart yellow peach and apple, toasted walnut, and mushroom on the nose. The chalkiness, salinity, umami and earthiness linger on the palate. Bright acidity with mousse like bubbles and great finish. This is a textbook Blanc de Blancs Champagne should taste like.
