一打開黃黃的外賣袋子，Kuah Lodeh的香味四溢~靠聞即可測其香甜度! 黃薑 + 椰香完全馬來亞風光的日不落!

蕉葉包蒸的Nasi Impit大概有6-7顆大大粒(比配sate吃的更大cube)~ 飽啊!超下飯的黃kuah一口一口殺掉了整碗banjir~

我好愛分析味道，最近做rendang也領會到馬來餐用香料之豐富。 而這個Lontong真的好麻煩做咧，太多香料了， 還要分好幾樣來煮，煮好才拼起來吃。餐點送來時，店主Azlan還說 : Please enjoy our simple food。其實哪裡 simple？

他還說目前他的忠實客群中有一半是華人，很感謝我的青睞~哎呀我聽了都怪自己是太遲鈍，太遲發 現Lontong之美味。(之前吃太多so so的)以後有外國朋友來，我一定要他們讓試吃Lontong！

邁進第四週年的馬來小館位 Lontong&Such 位於 Sungai Way，我看了看menu，他們還不斷推出不同樣色的季 節菜單。小本經營到有如此有規劃與誠意，對食物少半點熱誠都辦不到～

Do you know what is a Merlion and its origin?

For a really long time, I used to think that Merlion is the combined form of Mermaid and lion. It does make sense though, right?

So the Merlion is the official mascot of Singapore, depicted as a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish.

It has been said that the Merlion reflects the legend of Sang Nila Utama, a Malay prince, who discovered a fishing island called Temasek (which mean “fish town” in Javanese). It was there that he met with a majestic creature, a lion, which purported him to name the island Singapura which translated to “Lion City” in Sanskrit. So the Merlion reflects the lion that the prince discovered.

With Sang Nila’s tale as a basis, the Merlion was designed by Fraser Brunner as an emblem for the Singapore Tourism Board, adding a fish tail to the statue to signify Singapore’s humble beginnings as a fishing village.

This sculpture is located in front of Fullerton Hotel and overlooking the Marina Bay. The night view of this place is simply spectacular!

You will also find a Merlion cub in this park. Other than these two Merlion, there are 5 more Merlion including the one in Sentosa.

For this episode, we destroyed a MASSIVE 6.3KG (14LB) Curry Rice courtesy of Jack’s Kitchen at Old Airport Road Food Centre! Due to renewed Covid-19 restrictions, dining out has become impossible. We scoured the island for the best takeaway options for a mukbang challenge and Jack’s Kitchen was kind enough to supply us with their specialised curry rice offerings.

For this challenge, I ate:
12 portions of rice
5 Pork Cutlets
5 Chicken Cutlets
6 Fried Eggs
A truckload of Javanese-style curry

The curry was thick and luscious, with a strong coconut flavour and spiced closer to a Javanese/Peranakan style curry with just a hint of chilli. The cutlets were both extremely crispy, but the pork cutlets really stood out with their different breading (possibly panko) and seasoning.

This was a challenging mukbang that really helped me stretch my limit after the food poisoning fiasco. Owned by a friendly elderly couple, it would be good to help them out in such trying times for the hawker industry. I strongly recommend the pork cutlet!

This is the cooking demo I did for Masters of Malaysian Cuisine with the recipe from Her Majesty Malaysian Queen's cookbook. The recipe is of Javanese settlement in Johor, where the Queen is originally from before she married the Pahang Crown Prince who is now the King of Malaysia. My co-host Thanis Lim, a Brunei based food influencer joined me for the show.
