The business sector has always been the close partner of the Equal Opportunities Commission (“#EOC”). My appreciation goes to the employers which shows their serious support to the promotion of racial diversity in the workplace by signing The Racial Diversity & Inclusion Charter For Employers. These employers all concur with the nine goals set forth in the Charter as follows:

1. Implement racial equality and diversity policies for the organisation based on the principles of the Race Discrimination Ordinance (RDO) and the Code of Practice on Employment under the RDO.

2. Establish fair recruitment, appointment, promotion, staff development and dismissal processes and criteria that do not discriminate against any person or groups of persons on the ground of race.

3. Review the employment processes and policies regularly to ensure relevance, fairness and absence of barriers for people of all races.

4. Raise awareness of the policies and principles of racial inclusion and the consequences of racial discrimination among staff through training courses, awareness campaigns, sharing of good practices, events and award schemes.

5. Proactively encourage engagement with racial minorities from underprivileged and under-represented communities through recruitment as well as internship opportunities, on-the-job training, mentorship schemes and staff volunteering activities.

6. Provide a safe and collaborative work environment for all employees.

7. Make employees of all races feel involved and included by taking into account their particular needs, if any, in communication, policies and activities.

8. Have in place a formal grievance process for employees to report and receive redress for any discrimination, harassment or unfair treatment, whether to themselves or observed towards others.

9. Ensure grievances are dealt with swiftly, effectively and confidentially.

The EOC encourages more companies and organisations to sign the Charter and work closely with us by bringing the value of racial diversity and inclusion to every single workplace.

定宇分享台灣相關外交國防消息…

美國海軍部長提名人托羅（Carlos Del Toro），13日出席參議院軍事委員會的任命聽證會。如果你看完下列托羅的證詞，再加上不久前，美軍太平洋艦隊司令帕帕羅所說的「防止中國武統台灣是我的責任。」可以看出美國印太戰略架構中，對台的安全政策和紅線。

托羅強調，「（美國）以所有可能的方式保衛台灣是至關重要的事，這需要全面審視我們對台灣的國家承諾。我們應該專注於為台灣提供儘可能多的自衛措施。」

「如果獲確認為海軍部長，我將特別專注於中國的威脅，特別專注於推進我們的海上戰略，以保護台灣和我們在印太地區所有的國家安全利益。」

「中國軍事實力的不斷成長，美海軍優勢已非當然之理。海軍有必要達成355艦隊的目標，以有效嚇阻北京在南海的擴張行動…他尚未通過提名，無法參與2022年度財政預算案，但是他會在2023年財政年度預算案爭取落實這個目標。」

"It's incredibly important to defend Taiwan in every way possible," Del Toro told the Senate Armed Services Committee at his confirmation hearing. "It takes a holistic view of our national commitment to Taiwan. We should be focused on providing Taiwan with as much self-defensive measures as humanly possible.

"And if confirmed to the Navy, I am going to be exclusively focused on the China threat and exclusively focused in moving our maritime strategy forward in order to protect Taiwan and all of our national security interests in the Indo-Pacific theater," he added.

Del Toro said at his confirmation hearing that he supports the 355-ship goal. Pressed on the fiscal 2022 budget, Del Toro stressed he has not been involved since he isn't confirmed yet, but he pledged to fight for resources in the fiscal 2023 budget.

STOP THE KILLING #THEVOICELESS
The government has recently issued a mass catching and culling of dogs that is on the street, the party involved in the catching of the animal has shown to use violent action and also unconventional ways to capture these dogs. The dogs that are captured would also include the ones that has been vaccinated (identified with double pvc chained collar) which worsen the situation because they are the best defence against rabies as territorial animal, dogs usually do not allow new or other dogs into their territory. Removing these vaccinated dogs create a vacuum effect allowing new batch of dogs to come in and they are usually not neutered or vaccinated against rabies.

Kuching Save our Strays community is racing against time to set-up emergency shelter for the TNVR dogs but such campaign is costly and has a high upkeep to keep the dog sheltered.

#無聲的吶喊
政府最近展開了大規模捕捉和撲殺街頭的狗狗們，參與捕殺行動的一方已經表現出暴力舉動和非常規的方式去捕捉這些狗們。大多數被捕抓的狗都已經接種疫苗（以耳朵記號和雙重PVC項圈來確定）這使得情況更加惡化，因為它們是防治狂犬病的最佳防禦區動物，狗通常不允許新狗或其他的狗進入自己的領域。移除了這些接種疫苗的狗反而產生了清空效應，並使得新批次的狗進入而且它們大多數都不曾做絕育手術或接種過狂犬病疫苗。

古晉的Save our Strays社團正在爭分奪秒地爲TNVR的狗狗們設立緊急避難所。但是這樣的活動費用與保養費都很高昂。請大家前來訪問@soskuching，來了解如何提供幫助。

The band "Alien Avenge" was formed in Taichung, Taiwan, in 2008, where Hevy Metal was just about to vanished at the verymoment. The six members of the band decided to keep metal despite the hard condition they faced and started their heavy invasion towards Taiwan's metalheads. Through their outstanding guitar riffs and vocal lines, they soon became one of the most identifiable band in Taiwan with remarkable and unique music style. During the first year after the band was formed, they were already invited to perfrom on all kinds of stages. From live house to music festival, they had been invited to play for "The Jump Festival" 、"Rock Taichung music festival" and had even been perfroming with"Chthonic"、"Solemn" 、"Hatebreed"from American, and "Head Phones President" from Japan.

Alien Avenge released their first EP "Alien Avenge" in 2009, which lately became a great success in Taiwan's heavy metal circle. With the new remix of the three songs from the EP, they are now ready to have their first album-"Tonatiuh" out in 2010. Along with the Cthonic's band leader, "Doris", as a guest singer for the song "MELTING", Alien Avenge is now even more skillful and powerful than before. Today, they are not just ready to show their music to Taiwan, but to all the metalheads in the whole world!

"I was invited to be involved in the female vocal recording of a song of the album "TONATIUH" by Alien Avenge early this year. Besides the concept and the name of the album , I'm also surprised by the composing and the various layers of death/black screams by the vocal.

However, continual passions and faith is one of the important elements to run a band. I saw this fancy and pure flame comes out from Alien Avenge and it keeps lighting up at the metal scene in Taiwan. I'm proud to suggest this excellent album to all the metal heads around the world, this is another Taiwanese metal monster that you can't miss!!!"
