1️⃣Using ‘can’ in a sentence
好多人以為can直接=「可以」，咁諗係錯㗎❌ 中學老師講過，’can’ is an ability word, 只限形容有能力/識做一件事 (e.g. I can do a backflip 🤸🏻♀️)
以「參加者可以近距離接觸海豚」為例，呢度嘅「可以」係指「得到機會」(而唔係「有能力/識」) 譯做英文時要注意🔔 所以：
❌ Participants can interact with dolphins up close.
✅ Participants will have the chance to interact with dolphins up close.
2️⃣ Subject-verb agreement
📍2 singular subjects
當subjects有’Neither...nor’ / ‘Either..or’ / ‘or’ / ‘Not only.. but also’ 嘅關係，個動詞只refer to 其中一個subject📎
⚠️所以個verb係singular⚠️
E.g.
❌ Neither Shelly nor Tom are on-set.
✅ Neither Shelly nor Tom is on-set.
(如果兩個subject都係plural, 就要用are)
📍1 singular + 1 plural subject
喺呢個情況下，我哋以較接近動詞嘅subject作準✔️
E.g.
✅ Not only Shelly but also the instrumentalists ARE on-set.
✅ Not only the instrumentalists but also Shelly IS on-set.
3️⃣’Society’ - 前面幾時要加’the’❓
‘Society’ 一般廣泛咁指人類、社會，呢個時候唔需要加the：
✅ Capitalism has been accused of causing wealth gaps and dividing society.
要加’the’嘅情況：
想講一個學會/組織🎨
✅ The Science Society
想講一個國家/地區嘅人🌍
✅ The society of Hong Kong 喺文法上係正確，但多數人會講Hong Kong Society
