G I F T If you enjoy #KoreanArmyStew, you ought to get your hands on this limited edition burger by @wildfireburgers.sg. It has their signature juicy USDA-certified Black Angus beef patty (having been grilled in the INKA charcoal oven, there’s a nice smokiness to it) stacked with a slab of Korean spam, housemade kimchi, gochujang butter, sliced Vienna sausages, American cheese, King Trumpet and Champignon mushrooms, baked beans and scallions between soft pillows of brioche buns. Conceptually, I think the Korean Army Stew Burger ($15) is interesting, but more importantly, it delivers on taste with a good balance in the ratio of ingredients. There’s also a tasty Kimchi Cheese Fries to go along with it (add-on: $5 / a la carte: $7). Both items are available for dine-in, takeaway and delivery from now till end of May. (Hosted) Hunting for a cocktail bar that offers fierce-in-flavours food at “purrs-friendly” prices? @liltiger.sg is one worth pouncing on. To pair with their eats, there’s an extensive cocktail menu (you might want to take note they do 1-for-1 on a selection every Wednesday which is their Ladies’ Night). @huatkaliao and I skipped alcohol during this visit but our niece Amanda (@kicksroundaworld) was pleased with the drinks she chose (her fave of the lot by @damn_aivan: the Sour Dragon concocted with @theorientalistspirits’ whisky). Which brings me to this point - I reckon Lil’ Tiger is best suited for those in the 20s to 30s demographic. Especially since its vibe transforms at 9pm daily into a club-like atmosphere with the dimming of lights, playlist switch and volume up, plus activation of the big mirror ball and smoke machine (watch for it in my video). Although the food isn’t labeled as Mexican, it does draw heavily from Mexican cuisine currently. Case in point, the fried-to-order taco chips served with fresh guacamole (loved how chunky it was with avocado), salsa with a solid kick, and a meaty chilli con carne (priced between $9++ and $13++ each). Also, the INKA-oven-charcoal-grilled Corn Elote ($11++) dressed in cojita cheese, cilantro and lime juice, as well as the Tacos. @huatkaliao and I preferred the Tacos with tender Boneless French Poulet or Chicken Necks ($12++ a pair) grilled in the same INKA oven but Amanda swore by the Quessabira which had Iberian Black Pork and melted cheese filling the two 4” corn tortillas ($13++ a pair). Since #LilTiger is by the same folks behind @wildfireburgers.sg, it’s no surprise burgers are on their menu. The Pulled Pork Burger ($15++) definitely exuded a Mexican mood as the thick shreds of Iberian Black Pork shoulder partied with nacho cheese, jalapeño, chipotle mayo, bacon, Spanish onions between toasted brioche buns. Available till 30th April, the moreish Ottoman Lamb Burger constructed with a @margra_lamb patty, eggplant, yogurt and onions, revealed itself to be all kinds of wonderful.
