隨著近年香港「守護廣東話」的聲浪愈來愈高，社會亦浮現「粵語文學」之概念。到底什麼為之「粵語文學」？以母語書寫又有什麼文化和時代意義？

Inheritance, Construction, or Imagination? Cantonese Literature in Hong Kong
據近年學界所悉，廣東的說唱傳統最遲在17世紀衍生了出版事業，「粵語」由口述傳統演化為書寫傳統。作為起源自南中國的重要語言，21世紀以粵語為母語者在全球約有一億二千萬人。不論是歷史學者慣見的包括畫報、粵謳、粵劇、粵語小說、教科書、翻譯文本（如1862年丕思業（Charles F. Preston，？–？）粵譯的福音書），還是近年社會關心的粵語歌詞、詩、散文、小說等等，都可以看到粵語書寫傳統延綿不絕的生命力。在2010年代，由於香港社會環境與市民身份認同的變化，社會漸次浮現「粵語文學」的概念，但我們對它的敘述卻正面對種種艱難。「香港文學」看似尚未決定收編、串連抑或拒斥「粵語文學」，而自「粵語文學」的概念成為香港的社會議題以來，「粵語文學」、「香港文學」的定義、由來與其知識系統的建置，均不斷形成各式論戰。
無庸諱言，「粵語文學」概念成為潮流與2010年代以來香港的「本土化」思考有密切關係，但早見於17世紀的「粵語書寫」卻反映「粵語文學」有其非政治化的由來。究竟今天香港的「粵語文學」是對嶺南「粵語書寫」的傳承、20世紀中末葉以來「香港文學」建構出來的分枝、抑或是2010年代創作者想像與努力的成果？是次研討會旨於探討「粵語文學」及「香港文學」的定義及其知識範疇的邊界，邀請粵語文學的創作者與研究者共同分享他們對「粵語文學」的觀點。

【SLS雜談．即興演奏】
繼上一篇的無譜演奏，今天來和大家聊聊「即興」。
大家常常都說我在即興，那究竟什麼是即興？或許到教科書上會用各種不同風格與曲種來跟你介紹即興的概念與類型，但我覺得最貼切的定義就是「在演奏的當下同時進行創作」。
即興可以是從零開始的無中生有，可以是單純一顆音符的無限延伸，可以是一組固有旋律的變化發展，也可以是現有歌曲元素的大肆改造。
好啦，上面太學術了，我們回到白話文：即興可以是認真彈，也可以是亂彈。
初學者最常遇到的難關就是過於害怕「彈錯」而不敢嘗試，畢竟在過往練琴的經驗中都有樂譜輔助著，規範你正確的音高、速度、表情等資訊；而被束縛久了的後果，就是失去自由翱翔的能力。
我也常跟學生說，沒有所謂的「錯音」，只有「這不是你要的聲音」。在即興創作時，舉凡從調性、節奏、音高、音程等小面向到和聲進行、織度、曲式、曲風等大方向全交由你一個人來決定，你將扮演這故事的「造物主」，由你決定這片天底下所有音符的人情世故。
舉個例子吧，假設今天你想彈的是Classical Style，你如果彈了個min9（小九和弦）可能就不是很恰當；如果你想來點Jazz Style，結果每一個和弦都是Traid（三和弦）也會很沒有味道；不過再講誇張點，就算你今天突然接不下去停下來了，其實你也可以凹說你在演4分33秒（笑
既然都說到這了，你可能會問說想成為即興大師到底需要什麼能力或天份？我覺得，撇除所有增進你即興專業度的理論和經驗，最重要的、也是唯一不能沒有的，那就是「想像力」（Imagination!）
「想像即是即興。」回到最原始的概念——你指尖所顫動的聲響即是當下你想像所反射出的音樂。你的想像力越豐富，你的音樂越是能天馬行空。
即興是一項門檻低但發展度極高的藝術，雖然是每個人與生俱來的能力，但如何靈活運用在演奏上，也是必須要靠長期下來的經驗累積與自身音樂直覺的激發。
如果你對即興有興趣的話，不妨從今天起就開始養成習慣，每天拿起你的樂器花一段時間嘗試隨心地演奏，或許從此就開闢了你音樂的新視野也說不定！

我們課本裡學的 artist 感覺就是要畫畫的那種藝術家，
但其實artist 的定義是 a person who creates art (such as painting, sculpture, music, or writing) with great skill and creative imagination
所以其實只要有「創作」，就可以是廣義的藝術範疇，也都可以稱為 artist喔！例如彩妝師叫make-up artist，film artist是電影藝術家。
