我想用英文謝謝國際友人對台灣的支持，中文在後面。
I want to thank the 44 scholars and retired government officials who published an open letter today showing solidarity with democratic Taiwan.
Your letter shows support when the people of Taiwan oppose the “one country,two systems” framework that China wants to impose on us. Your letter also shows that our international friends will not stand idly when we resist threats and uphold democracy, and that Taiwan will not have to stand alone.
The people of Taiwan deeply cherish democratic values. When our freedom, way of life, and national sovereignty are hreatened, we will pull together to protect our shared values.
It is time for democracy. It is time for Taiwan.
