Children are not born racist, in fact they don't distinguish people by the colour of their skin. My kids have grown up with people of every ethnicity under the sun. As Ibans and Asians we are people of colour. They never thought of themselves as different until they went to school and were taught about differences amongst people, religion and cultures. In our household, everyone celebrates everything together, be it Christmas or Gawai or Chinese New Year. So why point out differences? It doesn't matter. Black lives matter yes, but really, all lives matter. I'm not teaching my children that people are different because inside we're all the same. Sugu Tinggi ( Silver Headgear ) - Made of silver but nowadays sugu tinggi that sold in the streets is mostly from substitute materials instead of the genuine one. 2. Selampai ( Sash ) - decorate with very delicate woven patterns. Sash is worn around shoulders as scarf. 3. Marek Empang/ Tangu -Made up of beads and threads and worn around shoulders. . It's still not the complete set of Ngepan Iban. (female traditional cloth) There are many more but I just can't draw it all at once.
