有網友們問到關於墨爾本的住宿。

剛到墨爾本時，我住的是位於St Kilda路上的Habitat HQ. 時間過得很快，不知不覺就住了一個月。櫃檯的工作人員都非常親切和熱心，廚房基本上隨時都很乾淨(除了半夜外)，浴室空間寬敞，房間每天有人打掃整理。

價格在淡季還算友善，十人房的床位每晚介於19-25塊之間，旺季則可高達40塊以上 (越少人的房間價格會在更高)。由於價位比起其他背包客棧來說算中等，會住在裡面的背包客大部分的素質都還算不錯，大家都很互相關心和幫忙，也很常一票人聚在一起煮飯，或者遺留了東西在廁所也會有人檢去櫃台。(暖暖個人經驗是，最便宜的旅社通常會吸引很多貪小便宜的背包客，相當然爾環境不會舒服，東西也很容易被偷)

唯一讓我不喜歡的，是這間的經理很愛擺臉色，還有隨時改價錢這件事。他們幾乎每分鐘都可能改價格，我曾經在同一天裡，才剛付完整星期每晚26塊的房費，晚一小時去付錢的同房室友卻只付21塊，或者反之。
而老闆的回應是：這就像機票一樣，隨時會因訂房率的高低而更改。

總之，
若以十顆星來評價，我給這間青年旅舍的評價在七顆星左右。

Habitat is a great place to meet new friends, clean kitchen and nice location. I stayed there for a month, and everyday there was something happening. You will never get bored. Most of receptionis are nice and give as much info as they have, and do whatever they can to help you. There are nightly events in the hostel, like open mic nights, pub crawls, and trivia nights.

But the manager isn't friendly or helpful. She will not help keep your mail for a few days after you have left, even if you express that you are expecting something important. Actually they gave a few guests a bad attitute as soon as they checked out. This happend to me and some of my friends who stayed there. They also change their prices on a daily and even hourly basis. So when you go to extend your stay you can end up paying a very different price than your roommmates who extended the same day, just by the luck of picking the wrong time.

I understand that rates change, especially as transition into the summer, and even paying a rate that is competitive does not bother me. The issue is that guests have no fore warning about this. I am not the only guest that found issue with this either. Hostels I have stayed at in the past have posting of when rates will change. Generally there is a list that indicates the rates between given dates.

And I gotta say that I like all the staff in HabitatHQ, they are big part of success of the hostel, but the attitute of managers is not appreciated.
