奧運週大家都在幫運動員加油，也有一些人不小心油加太多然後燒了起來(?)

其實我們常掛在嘴邊的『加油』，英文非常難對等翻譯！牛津字典乾脆直接把『add oil』收錄進去，之前去上益智問答才被問到這題。

但前提是，還是對亞洲或華語比較熟悉的人才會知道你在說什麼，而且多半是獨立使用，比方說：

We still have a lot of work to do. So add oil, everyone !
(我們還有很多要努力之處，所以大家加油！)

至於英文道地的加油要怎麼說，就要看場合了：

1⃣️如果是 #事前(不限於運動，包括考試、面試、做報告等)，要幫你朋友或同事加油打氣：

You can do this! (你可以的啦！)
You got this!(沒問題的!)
Good luck!(一切順利喔！)

2⃣️如果是 #比賽中，觀眾或隊友對球員喊的『加油』：

Go! / Go!Go!Go!/ Go for it !/ Come on!

(這些短語其實都是喊氣勢的，類似中文的加油/衝啊/拼了/快!)

3⃣️ #在場邊加油打氣的行為，可以說root或cheer（啦啦隊員就是cheerleader）:

I cheered until I was hoarse.
我加油到『燒聲』。

I will be there rooting for you.
我會到場替你加油。

4⃣️如果是比較 #正式、新聞的用法，可以說show support(聲援、展現支持)
The singer gets backlash after showing support for Trump.
(在對川普表達支持後，該位歌手面臨反彈。)

5⃣️當然還有一種加油，是說給 #正處於低潮的人聽的。
這時候你可以私訊或到社群媒體上留個短訊給他/她(但也有可能是種壓力，請斟酌使用)：

Hang in there ! (加油！撐下去！)
I’m with you. (有我在)
Keep you chin up! (下巴抬高＝不要沮喪氣餒之意)

【咽喉不適】常用聲人士要好好保護喉嚨

青欖胖大海利咽孖寶
喉嚨痛是容易被人忽視的小症狀，總覺得多喝點水就能解決，但如果長期咽喉不適其實也很困擾，造成喉嚨痛的成因有很多，撇除感冒，陰虛燥熱是常見原因，經常用聲人士例如歌手、老師、銷售員等，因為喉嚨失滋養而令聲道燥澀，初起喉嚨乾痛，然後慢慢變成聲音沙啞甚至失聲。遇上這種情況，可以試試青欖和胖大海這兩種有利咽作用的果實，青欖性平，能開胃生津、化痰利咽。而胖大海性寒，尤其適合紓緩燥熱症狀，對於吃燒烤火鍋後出現咽喉痛、聲沙等症狀亦有幫助。

胖大海青欖茶
功效：清肺化痰、利咽開聲，紓緩陰虛、燥熱引致的咽喉疼痛、聲音沙啞等症狀。
材料：胖大海2至3顆、青欖3粒、蜂蜜適量
做法：材料洗淨，用刀背拍鬆，放入保溫瓶，用熱開水沖洗一遍，再注入熱開水焗15分鐘，，放涼一點後加入適量蜂蜜調味即可。此茶可反覆沖泡至味淡。
注意：身體無偏熱症狀不宜飲用。

青欖 — 性平，有開胃生津、化痰利咽、解酒的作用，適合咽喉疼痛、煩熱口渴、肺熱咳嗽、飲酒過多人士食用。

胖大海 — 性寒，有清肺化痰、利咽開音、潤腸通便的功效，適用於肺熱聲啞、咽喉疼痛、肺熱咳嗽、燥熱便秘等症狀。由於性寒，脾胃虛弱人士不宜服用。

Chinese white olive and malva nut – sore throat relievers
People often overlook sore throats, thinking they can solve the problem by drinking water, but sore throat can cause a long-term discomfort if left unattended. There are many contributing factors as well. Besides flu, yin deficiency and dryness are the common causes.

Here comes my weekly updated cover.

I spent an hour recording the first sentence of my Shallow cover.
It took me lots of time to compose myself and to absorb into the emotions in the movie.
For the true emotions in the movie, whether it is joy, sentimental or love, it is told by music.
With the hoarse male voice in the first part, I tried to symbolize the Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s singing through the different low and high pitches.

Shallow is a very quiet song, and I hope you all like my violin cover.
It’s about pursuit of your dreams, and finding it again after being confused.
