Very unfortunate find - Alice Cheongdam appears to be one of the more popular speakeasy bar in Seoul but the first drink itself just didn’t ace. They focus a lot of presentation (KRW25k per drink!), the Hippity Hoppity was boring and just plain sour, barely any vodka spotted and what spearmint? It was nothing but a glass of extremely sour juice 😵. Then there’s a cover charge of KRW10k per pax which includes a shot of champagne where it was GONE after I came back from the washroom and I have only had 10% of it, a basket of snacks, FIJI water. For that kind of price, I would have expected the cocktail to be more complex but it was just flat sour juice and that’s it! No ordering second drink since the first wasn’t impressive. It was clear that their priorities were given to the presentation of the drink. Nevertheless, the staffs were all very friendly. They did ask about the drink but I was too lazy convey, too tired to explain. It wasn’t too bad in general, they just need to cut down the pretentious level, focus on drinks if they want to charge that kind of price; somewhat far cry from Manhattan / Atlas in SG.
