☛ be abashed at 因…而感到慚愧/窘迫/不好意思
e.g. Caroline felt completely abashed at the sight that all the participants were wearing a formal dress while she was in mini-skirt.
凱瑞萊看見到場的其他人都很得體，而她卻穿著迷你裙時，她感到非常不好意思

☛ keep abreast of/with 與..並駕齊驅; 跟得上…
e.g. In order to survive in a world full of intense competition, an enterprise must keep abreast with the most advanced development in its field.
一個企業想要在這競爭激烈的社會生存下去，就必須掌握所在行業的最先進技術

☛ be absorbed in 專心於; 全神貫注於; 沈醉於
e.g. Max is rather absorbed in conducting her research on over-reliance on technology, doubting whether it makes human relationship more close to each other or not.
麥克斯非常專注於進行她關於過度依賴科技的研究，她懷疑著科技究竟讓人們的關係更親密呢，還是反而不是

☛ heap abuse on 辱罵; 謾罵; 責罵
e.g. After Caroline’s breakup with her boyfriend, she just cannot stop heaping abuse on him every day.
在凱瑞萊與她男友分手之後，她就無法停止辱罵他男友

☛ do sth of one’s own accord 自願做某事; 主動做某事
e.g. You helped her of your own accord and now you complain about it ruins your plan. Do you think your stance is solid enough?

☛ leave sth out of account 忽視了某事; 沒想到; 沒料到
e.g. The professor left the level of the examinees out of account; consequently, all of them complained the contents of the exam.
這教授忽略了考生的程度；於是大部份的考生抱怨著考試的內容

☛ have an affair with 與….有不正當的(男女)關係
e.g. The governor had an affair with a film star and her husband was trying to trade on her relation with the governor for booming his business.
這省長與一位電影明星有染，她老公甚至為了讓自己生意蓬勃發展，以這種關係作為交換條件

☛ be agitated about 對…感到焦慮; 因…心緒不寧
e.g. Caroline has been agitated about the future of her cupcake business since last week.
