Let alone, in the eyes of Beijing, Hong Kong always harbored 'leftover evil supporters' of the British government. But for the people of Hong Kong, it felt more like they benefited from the 'leftover glory' of the British colonial period, be it with regard to the rule of law or basic infrastructure.
