It’s important to seize every Instagram worthy moment in life — even if it means gatecrashing your friend’s #staycation at @kloehotel for photos. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Before everyone asks why I’m so modestly attired before a large body of water, here’s the full story: a retired uncle got upset that I’d dipped my feet into the water without rinsing them first and proceeded to yell from across the pool with his equally distressed wife (who was doing aquarobics at the time — tho she was selfieng with her phone in the water earlier. I’ll go lurk @influencersinthewild soon). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don’t remember much of the altercation, but for someone who takes three showers a day, scrubs his feet bi-weekly and handwashes socks and undies to ensure they’re in pristine condition, this was a distressing experience for me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Malu la...but more malu for how entitled people can be sometimes. I mean — who rinses their feet before dipping them into a pool, you know? If hygiene and cleanliness were truly the issues at stake here, I’d think twice about submerging my feet into a pool that’s hosted other people’s genitals and private bits, no? It’s a pity chlorine doesn’t sterilise egos. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The irony here is that the #KloeHotel tagline is #BeKindToStrangers (pretty rad slogan by the way — do continue engaging with the copywriters and agencies you’d hired, cause it’s worth the investment), but hey, I guess that fails to register with some guests upon check-in in their bid to monopolise the pool. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Verdict: Awesome design, interiors, coffee and attentive staff. Clientele? Some should come with a rabid dog warning.

It’s two years today since we boarded a one-way flight to a Singapore ✈️ In two years I’ve seen more of the world than my other 31 years put together and experienced things I never thought I’d be lucky enough to do! 😊 I believe you’re never too old to see the world and travelling is not only for 20-somethings on a gap year. Whilst I’m very happy in my settled life back in the U.K., experiencing life abroad is by far the best thing I’ve ever done. I kept hearing colleagues and friends saying ‘I wish I’d lived abroad when I was younger’ and didn’t want to to constantly wonder what if. We only stayed 7 months as I couldn’t get a job out there but it was an utterly fantastic whirlwind of a time! From spontaneous rooftop fireworks to gatecrashing a dog’s birthday party, eating chilli crab on the beach to walking with wild monkeys.. by far the best few months of my life and utterly life-changing 😍 give somewhere new a try... I can guarantee you won’t regret it 💭✈️

I have to admit, as much as I don't fully appreciate the whole gatecrashing tradition of torturing the groom and his merry men to "earn" his bride, I have missed the fun of capturing those moments now that wedding season returns.
