Hooray for Team Sandcastles! We had less members but more wins. Good games to both teams. I changed out of my Splatfest gear and into Tennis Headband, Green-Check Shirt, and Black Trainers.

I had a lot of trouble with this weapon in Turf War. The Inkbrush Nouveau offers very fast movement while holding the trigger, but the width of the "brush-stroke" is very narrow compared to a roller. Whipping my brush back and forth offered better coverage but killed my mobility. Jumping while flinging helped some, but overall the Inkbrush Nouveau is not an inking-machine. Perhaps it's better in other modes.

I was surprised at the number of splats I got with the Ink Mine. Usually I only get a lot of splats with them on Tower Control. At first, I forgot I even had the Bubbler, but eventually I started remembering and using it both offensively and defensively. I longed for a long-range tool, but I made do with what I had.

With my inking-ability hampered by the weapon, and no long-range tools, I tried to flank as much as possible; this was very possible in Walleye Warehouse. I had trouble with Blackbelly Skatepark because of its slopes and small ledges; it was slightly difficult to ink up walls here.

After the map-change, I got to spend a few games in Arowana Mall and Kelp Dome. I got some multi-splats using Ink Mines on the top of the middle ramp in Arowana Mall. I liked the more flat nature of Kelp Dome; it offered me freedom and mobility.

Despite its lows, the Inkbrush Nouveau offers great highs. It is immensely satisfying to sneak up on an enemy-Inkling and whip the brush back and forth. It's weak and takes longer than a roller's fling-attack, but I feel it's more visceral. Having to sneak up on someone, mash that ZR-button and get a few hits in before he or she goes down makes it all the more satisfying when he or she does.

How do you make a great opening number for the Oscars? Get a bunch of Broadway talent to do it.

The production number, "Moving Pictures," sung by Tony-winning Academy Awards host Neil Patrick Harris and "Into the Woods" star Anna Kendrick, was written by Academy Award-winning "Frozen" songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

The visuals edited Harris into classic films from "The Wizard of Oz" to "Star Wars" to "Into the Woods."

The middle section of the song, as sung by Jack Black, aped Stephen Sondheim's "Witch's Rap" from Into the Woods, and he warned Harris that he would be “better off polishing your Tony." Kendrick drove him off by yelling “Beat it” and flinging her Cinderella shoe at him.
