As @sommation_live #rose week continues, today, I’m tasting two distinctive delicious Rosés, both are from the U.S.
Located in Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, @mauritsonwines has more than 150 years of grape growing heritage. Clay Mauritson, the 6th generation of the family, bottled the first vintage in 1998.
This 2020 Mauritson Rosé made from 100% Zinfandel, a stellar grape variety of Dry Creek Valley, is expressive both on the nose and palate with red berries compote, ripe white nectarine, and pink grapefruit. Vivid, exuberant and mouthwatering.
Moving from west coast to east, @osmotewine is established in 2014 by the young and talented Finger Lakes born, Ben Riccardi, to show his voice and the region’s tremendous potential.
First impression with this 2019 Cabernet France Rosé is mineral followed by notes of white raspberry, candied tangerine peel and savory herbs. The wine is dry with a little grip maybe. It’s lean and bright. I can certainly see myself sipping the wine overlooking Seneca Lake on a warm summer evening.
Special thanks to @Banvillewinemerchants @mauritsonwines @claymauritson for your generous support.
