【你知道「暮光世界」的真意嗎？
看懂《天能》英文台詞的秘密】

這次來聊聊片中的特殊詞句

首先，是主角常掛在嘴上的暗語：
We live in a twilight world,
and there are no friends at dusk.
我們活在一個暮光世界
黃昏時沒有朋友

其實「暮光世界」有特殊涵義
絕對不（只）是在調侃
演過 #暮光之城 的 #羅伯派汀森😂

來看看字典的解釋：
Twilight World
1. a strange situation involving mystery, dishonesty etc.
>>The twilight world of espionage.
牽扯到神秘、不實的奇特情況
>>間諜的暮光世界

2. a situation of confusion or uncertainty, which seems to exist between two different states or categories.
困惑不明的情況，好似介於兩種不同的狀況或類別之間

所以 #諾蘭 編寫的台詞
一方面在形容國際間諜的機密世界
一方面能象徵雙向時間軸的詭異狀態
就像IMDb電影網站的故事大綱：

Armed with only one word, Tenet, and fighting for the survival of the entire world, a Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time.

此外，主角在片中沒有名字
只被稱為「主人翁」：

Protagonist
主角、主人公，負責推進故事的人
反義詞（antonym）就是
反派、對立角色，主角的主要敵人
Antagonist

大家應該都很熟悉這兩個字的字首
pro- 正面，支持
anti- 反對，對抗

entropy: 熵
espionage: 間諜，特務活動
forged: 偽造的
infiltrate: 潛入，滲透
inversion: 相反，倒置
hypothermia: 體溫過低
recruit: 招募
paradox: 悖論，似是而非的說法
pincer movement: 鉗形攻勢
plutonium: 鈽
temporal: 時間的

最後來看一段有趣的外媒評價：
“If Nolan has out-Nolaned himself, it’s in the action set-pieces which, despite being of head-scrambling technical intricacy, are sharper than Occam’s razor and carried off with astonishing economy.”

第一句竟然將「諾蘭」
變成了動詞 out-Nolan！？

out- 字首有勝過、超越的意思，例如
outwit: 智勝、智取
outperform: 表現勝過
outdo: 超越、優於

因此這裡的意思可理解成
Nolan has outdone himself
諾蘭超越了他自己
（比諾蘭更諾蘭的故事）
