Link in bio. Recently, Cuba's economy has taken a hit as tightened sanctions by the US have hurt the tourism industry. Nayla's mother runs a casa particular (bnb) in Havana, and because of recent political developments, she has not seen business all year. Nayla's younger brother is currently serving in the military, which means Nayla is the only person in her family with an income, but she doesn't earn enough in Cuba to help her family out by much. Over the past year, Nayla, a mutual friend of ours, and I, have looked for ways for her to seek employment abroad, and we decided that teaching English in China would be the best way, and she now has a few job offers. She is also bringing a friend along who will also be working in China, so she does not get too lonely as she adjusts to her new life on the other side of the world. Although we've saved up some money for her relocation, tickets are now very expensive, so we've decided to set up a gofundme so more people can help out. The goal says $1000, but in all honesty, anything would help out immensely. If you are in the US, think of this as a means of paying reparations to Cuba.
