Have you ever been in a situation where you couldn't make a decision on whether what you are doing or have chosen is the right thing to do or the right one for you? Here is a powerful tip you can use for any important or minor decisions you need to make, and by doing this, it will help to build your confidence level. Why? Because you are seeking divine counsel with Allah (ﷻ). First, you make a decision of choosing A or B, then you make Istikharah. Trust in Allah (ﷻ) and He will guide you. If you haven't tried making the du'a of istikharah, here's how you do it; Jābir bin ‘Abdullāh r.a. narrated that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to teach us the way of doing Istikhārah, in all matters just like he taught us the Chapters of the Qur’ān. He used to say, If anyone of you intends to do something, he should offer two rak’āt prayers other than the compulsory prayers, and after finishing it, he should say: O Allah, verily, I seek the good with Your knowledge, and I seek the strength with Your power and I seek from Your mighty favour, for certainly, You have power whereas I do not have any power. And You know and I do not know, and You have knowledge of the unseen. O Allah, in Your knowledge if this matter (for which the Istikhārah is sought) is good for me in relation to my religion, my livelihood, and the end of my matter then decree it for me, make it easy for me and then grant me blessings in it. And in Your knowledge, if this matter (for which the Istikhārah is sought) is bad for me in relation to my religion, my livelihood, and the end of my matter then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and decree for me good from wherever it may be and then make me be pleased with it. Did you know that the angels make du'a for us? Never think that you are forgotten for they have you in their prayers. Here's who they make du'a for; 1. For the believers & for those who teach people good things; The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah and His angels, and the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, even the ant in its hole, and the fish send blessings upon the one who teaches people good things." [Tirmidhi] 2. For those who stand in the first row; The Prophet (ﷺ) said, " Allah and His angels send blessings on the first rows." [Ibn Majah] 3. For those who remain in dhikr after salah, waiting for the next one; The Prophet (ﷺ) said, " The angels pray for every one of you as long as you remain in the place which you prayed and do not break wudoo', and they say, 'O Allah, forgive him! O Allah, show mercy to him!' Each of you is in the prayer as long as he is waiting for it and there is nothing but the prayer preventing him from going to his family." [Bukhari] 4. Those who send blessings upon the Prophet (ﷺ); The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There is no person who sends blessings on me but the angels send blessings on him so long as he sends blessings on me. So let him do a little of that or a lot." [Musnad Ahmad] 5. Those who visit the sick; "The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever comes to his Muslim brother and visits him [when he is sick], he is walking among the harvest of Paradise until he sits down, and when he sits down he is covered with mercy. If it is morning, seventy thousand angels will send blessing upon him until evening, and if it is evening, seventy thousand angels will send blessing upon him until morning." [Ibn Majah] 6. Those who sleep in wudoo'; The Prophet (ﷺ) said, " Whoever sleeps in the state of wudoo' an angel spends a night with him.
