Throwback Thursday (TBT): 大家有在看大嘻哈時代The Rappers嗎？說真的，我覺得很妙的是，很多次當人家在談台灣嘻哈這個話題時，好像不少人都不記得or不知道我也是台灣嘻哈故事當中的一部分⋯。
當年我回來台灣想一起幫助把台灣嘻哈弄起來，和大支，熱狗，J.Wu一起加入了大馬戲團。我記得那時有多難搞，那時嘻哈音樂在台灣非常的不受到重視，很多唱片公司都抱持存疑的態度。

最後終於我們可以發行了個人的專輯s和MVs，打開了這扇門，所以也因爲有我們這些朋友走過，也才有今天的台灣嘻哈環境。不過沒關係啦，你們知道就好了！但是呢，If YOU don't know....... YOU bettah ask somebody!!!!!!! 😆

So a new show came out in Taiwan called, “Hip Hop Era: The Rappers”. In it, they talk to a few OGs about the history of hip hop in Taiwan and how the culture developed and grew. It’s a pretty good show, but it also reminded me of how whenever people talk about the history of hip hop in Taiwan, people either forget, or don’t know that I, this American kid from Houston, was a part of the struggle to grow hip hop in Taiwan.

Man, back when I first got to Taiwan, the hip hop community was SO small, and the crew I joined that consisted of Dwagie, MC HotDog, and J.Wu worked so hard to share and expand hip hop in the country. I still remember how record companies didn’t understand it, and couldn’t fathom the thought of releasing a full-length hip hop album. 😂 The struggle was real....

Finally, after a lot of hustlin’, grindin’, and persevering, we all got to release our albums and MVs with a major label, thus helping to pave the way for all the young bucks coming up now. Today, hip hop in Taiwan has really blown up, and I’m blessed to have been a part of the journey to get it to where it is now. Maybe bc I tend to keep a lower profile, many people in Taiwan don’t know some of this stuff. That’s ok, as long as in my heart I know. lol But, if YOU don’t know....... YOU bettah ask somebody!!!!!!! 😆

今天，聖誕夜，講幾支聖誕歌的故事
我八零年代開始聽聖誕歌，九零年代開始蒐集聖誕音樂
最早讓我眼睛一亮的聖誕歌，是Simon & Garfunkel唱的”7 O'Clock News/Silent Night”，因為襯著平安夜的，是七點鐘全國新聞的主播聲音，播報的內容從芝加哥連環殺人犯到反越戰新發展，一點都不平安

然後，聽到Tom Waits的聖誕歌"Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis”，典型的受Charles Bukowski影響的「邊緣人聖誕之歌」
後來，這種另類聖誕歌越聽越多，也就越收越多一般人聽了會皺眉頭的「聖誕歌」

1989年，Lou Reed推出大片《New York》，震驚紐約文化圈，一個例證，我竟然在紐約時報的輿論版，看到”Dirty Blvd.”這支歌的歌詞全文，當然，這張專輯當中的“Xmas in February”，也讓紐約客討論許久。我的聖誕歌蒐集，又多了一個大咖的作品

九零年代回台灣，蒐集聖誕音樂的機會少了許多，可是因為網路，也重新發現了許多以前漏掉的聖誕歌，The Pogues的"Fairytale of New York”就是其中的一顆珍珠，這條歌每回聽，都有不同的感受，一個原因是，我在紐約待過

聖誕夜小小聊一下另類聖誕歌，最後，還是用一條最經典的聖誕歌收尾，Bing Crosby的"White Christmas”， 當然，講到平克勞司貝，請容我再介紹一支他與David Bowie合作的"Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy”，兩個世代合作出來的聖誕歌，聽完，今晚祝你好眠
