    鄧元翰說，他在台灣的時間會比過去在其他國家工作的時間長，希望在台灣使用的名字能更切合台灣文化，並獲台灣人好評。而保留「鄧」為姓氏，是因為「鄧」讀起來與他的英語姓氏Dennis的第一個音節相似，因此以鄧為姓，加上「元翰」，讓他感覺這個名字更貼近自己。
