在自由的社會中，每位公民都能依照個人的自由意志來行使權利。言論自由讓每位公民都能監督政府，要求政府改變不公不義的法規與政策。
　
In a free society, all citizens must be able to pursue their own paths, set their own goals, and think for themselves. The freedom of speech safeguards these rights as it enables us to challenge and change government regulations and laws we find oppressive and unjust.
　
歷史表明，在缺乏監督機制的情況下，政府的絕對權力將導致絕對的腐化。即便有些言論不合我們的心意，但禁止人們發聲不僅限制了言論自由，也剝奪了人們聽取他人意見的權利。禁止言論，並不能禁絕思想。唯有透過對話與協商，才能達成共識，而使社會進步。
　
History has shown that without the corrective mechanism of free speech, governments would consolidate their powers without regard for the rights and freedom of those whom they ought to serve. To deny people of free speech is a double wrong, because doing so would also deprive people of the right to listen, even though some speech would undoubtedly make us feel uncomfortable. Banning certain speech would not result in the elimination of ideas. It is through engagement and negotiation that we can reach consensus and progress as a society.
　
每個人都應享有批評政府的權利，而無需擔心遭受迫害。這也是當今公民得以贏得諸多權利的原因。言論自由是值得全體人類努力爭取的基本人權。
　
All people ought to have the right to criticize their government without fear of persecution, because it is how we have won the rights we have today. The freedom of speech is a fundamental human right and it’s worth fighting to protect.

第一次來到中東國度既期待又害怕受傷害
剛抵達以色列特拉維夫機場
卻是驚喜連連
首先是被先進前衛充滿層次感的建築設計震攝住
沒有持有回程機票的我深怕海關不會讓我入境
殊不知海關是個以色列冰山美人
俐落的問了我幾個問題就發給我三個月簽證
再來上了機場接駁車
竟發現旁邊的當地人在說著一口流利的普通話
我好奇地問了他
你會講中文？！
他也一臉吃驚的看著我回答的
妳也會說中文？！
(我是哪裡不像了…皮膚太黑嗎 😂
他說他為了挑戰自己跑去中國學中文
一年後目標達成榮耀歸國
現在當中國和台灣團的導遊
他問我一個女生來以色列幹什麼
於是我和他說了我在世界流浪的故事
會來以色列完全是意外沒有任何計畫的
他說他很佩服我的冒險精神
他也曾經和我一樣在亞洲俄羅斯漂泊九個月
於是他邀請我到他的老家以色列北部過猶太新年
我想了一下就一口答應
好啊！反正我也沒有計畫
就這樣突來的驚喜我和猶太家庭共度第5779個新年
他們熱情地招待我傳統道地的料理
魚肉 熱湯 紅酒 和媽媽做的點心
聊著猶太人千年的宗教歷史
完全顛覆了我們對以色列充滿戰亂的刻板印象
現在我悠閒地走在特拉維夫城市的海灘上
看著陽光 沙灘 滿滿的比基尼辣妹和六塊肌帥哥
很難想像這就是那個被負面國際新聞媒體佈滿天的以色列啊！

I was so excited about comig to Israel because I have never been to Middle Eastern country before.
​When I arrived Tel Aviv airport, there was full of surprise.
​I didn't expect the buildig to be modern design but it was completely new and artistic.
​I was worried if I would get reject to enter Israel since I hadn't have a return flight.
​Luckily, the custom was an Israeli beauty.
​She only asked me a few questions and she gave me a three month visa without a return ticket.
​So I got on the airport shuttle bus, I sat down and soonly found out the local guy who was sitting next to me could speak Chinese!
​I was very curious so I spoke to him in Chinese.
Me​: You speak Chinese?
Him​: You speak Chinese too?!
​He was shocked that I also speak Chinese probably because of my dark skin…haha
​He told me he challenged himself to learn how to speak in Chinese so he went to China for a year. He reached his goal and came back to Israel. Now he has his own tour company serving Chinese and Taiwanese group.
​He asked me what I am doing in Israel so I told him about my travel story that comig to Israel wasn't in my plan.
​He told me that he also has travelled around Asia and Russia for 9 months. He really like the adventrous spirit of me!
​He invitied me to celebrate Jewish New Year with his family in the North of Israel where his hometown is.
​I got no plans so why not!
​I was lucky enough to spend the 5779 Jewish New Year with a Jewish family.
​They welcomed me with traditional Jewish food, hot soup, homemade dessert and wine!
​We talked about the ancient Jewish history and culture over thousands years.
​Most of us only know about the negative part of Israel, we never come here and see how actual Israel is like. The media told us only about wars and religion issues to create a stereotype.
​I am now walking on the beach in Tel Aviv watching the sunshine, feeling the desert sands and checking out hot bikini girls and guys with six packs.
​It is hard to believe that this is the Israel that how we imagine it with only bad news.
​You just have to come and see tbe place with your eyes! He that travels far knows much.

Starting December 17th, Avanti challenged herself to what she calls the #24day24hourcoverchallenge. She invited all her followers to nominate songs for her to perform, in ANY language and ANY style, and she would have less than 24 hours to learn, perform, find collaborators, and record new videos.
　
She is doing a different concept for each video and is putting her own spin on pieces. People have nominated songs in several languages including French, Spanish, Armenian, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Tagalog and Mandarin. Her Mandarin cover of the Passenger's song by G.E.M.【光年之外 LIGHT YEARS AWAY 】will be out on Tuesday on Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms! 我的新書《做好自己喜歡的事，就會閃閃發光》想跟大家分享我入行以來，對於這一行有著不一樣的理解，所謂的好、成功的定義，好像都跟入行前想的不一樣。

從前還在當學生的我，覺得考第一名、唸好學校，還進入了UBC的藥學系，這些成功讓我非常有成就感，而在網路上的名氣也讓我覺得走音樂這條路是可行的，於是我回到台灣，沒想到發了片，我卻覺得越來越空虛，好不容易發行的第一張創作專輯，卻遇上疫情，讓未來的路越來越不清楚，我才發現，進了這一行，並不是我很努力，事情就會按照我想要的方向走。如果一直想要成功，就會越來越不快樂，越成功，就會越快樂嗎？其實最重要的，就是「快樂」而已。

沒有所謂的「成功」，沒有人可以定義成功，只要心靈富足，做好自己喜歡的事，喜歡這樣的自己，真的就會閃閃發光。我坦然接受真實的自己，我希望我無時無刻都能閃閃發光。

Since Taiwan LGBT Pride will be on October 26, Brian takes on the challenge of learning to sing "Who am I?" by Afalean Lu and perform it in 5 days.

One of my behind-the -screens wizard friends gave me a challenge. He told me to perform this song, and even though I knew the name of it, I still hadn't watched the music video or heard the actual song. Even though it was completely new, my friend challenged me to go from completely new to performing it in 5 days

On Friday, October 25 at 7:30 P.M., there will be an LGBT group wedding at Ximen North Plaza. Since I attended the first LGBT group wedding in Taipei on May 24, I still get choked up randomly when I think back to that day. Seeing so many people who just got this new right and the ability to take the first step towards plans and dreams that had in some cases been waiting for a long, long time. If you want to come out and see true love, I welcome all to attend!
